Having problems with your Euro-Pro Vacuums ?
I need to get to the internals of the machine in order to retape the electric wire that originates inside. I have removed all of the visible external screws that are keeping the 2 sides together but it still will not open.
It is a Euro-Pro vacuum model ep 601.
Can you help?
\015\012\015\0121. \015\0121 Lower handle of vacuum and flip\015\012over so that it lies flat on floor upside down.
\015\0122. Twist 3 plastic securing latches with large flathead screwdriver or a coin.
\015\0123. Remove black plastic roller brush assembly cover.
\015\012At this point, you should see the motor shaft it wraps around (it's metal and\015\012as big around as a pencil, buried fairly deep in the now exposed well, you'll\015\012also see two white plastic wheels that are part of the roller brush. One is an\015\012"idle" wheel that spins freely, and the other wheel is part of the\015\012roller brush and turning it turns the roller brush.
\015\0124. Remove the roller brush assembly by pulling upward on it. You may need to\015\012"walk" the brush assembly out one end at a time a little bit at a\015\012time.
\015\0125. Loop the new belt over the two wheels of the roller brush assembly and\015\012replace it back into the vacuum.
\015\0126. If you can manage it, stretch the belt over the end of the motor shaft,\015\012making sure the belt is running between the two prongs of the belt guide\015\012operating by the carpet/bare floors switch.
\015\012\015\012If successful, perform steps 1-5 in reverse order to reassemble\015\012the vacuum. If you cannot stretch it over the motor shaft, you'll have to\015\012continue with step 7 to get a better grip and angle on the belt.
\015\012\015\0127. Remove two screws next to rear wheels nested deep in screw\015\012socket holes.
\015\0128. Remove 2 screws at front of corners of vacuum previously hidden by roller\015\012brush assembly cover.
\015\0129. Remove 2 screws sunk in hole sockets next to flat holes that accommodate the\015\012coin screw latches.
\015\01210. Remove 1 short screw from slightly behind roller brush in center of top\015\012assembly. (It is easily visible and you need not remove the brush assembly\015\012again to get it out with a screwdriver.)
\015\01211. Remove the 2 screws holding down the metal brackets (1 screw per bracket)\015\012that hold down the carpet adjustment wheel assembly.
\015\01212. Remove the brackets and the carpet adjustment wheel assembly.
\015\01213. Remove carpet height adjustment lever by removing the single screw buried\015\012deep in the center of the plastic height adjustment cylinder. (a hollow cylinder\015\012with ratcheted teeth spiral gently down into the well.)
\015\01214. Turn Vacuum right side up.
\015\01215. Remove blue/green top assembly that fits over the start button and\015\012"Full" light indicator.
\015\01216, Making sure belt is still looped over white plastic wheels of roller brush\015\012assembly, pull belt onto motor shaft.
\015\01217. Replace top assembly, it snaps into place.
\015\01218. Turn vacuum upside down and flat on floor.
\015\01219. Make sure belt is running between prongs of guide operated by carpet / bare\015\012floors switch.
\015\012Perform steps 1-13 in reverse order to reassemble vacuum.
\015\012\015\012 This will help. Thanks please keep\015\012updated.please do rate the solution positively .thank you for using fixya

I have a Zanussi 1700W bagless upright vacuum cleaner which keeps cutting out after about 5/10 mins use. I had to replace the rubber drive belt which snapped not long after purchasing and it was fine for a while, but now its just keeps cutting out after a small amount of use. Loose wire ive got a loose wire inside my vax cyclonic 1700w and ive stripped it down but cant see anything and its still not working but it was working when i moved the wire from side to side. Please help
Sounds to me like you have a open wire. There is a break in the wire inside to the insulation and as you move it, it gains and loses connection. There was some blockage there. I checked the rest of the system (extenstion hose, back filter area, pipe area to canister and area to side filter. In my (almost new) Dyson DC31 Animal the rolling brush tends to stop like the bearing was kind of difficult to turn. I opened the side carter and removed the little belt. Without the belt the engine runs regularly. I cleaned the little knots of hairs trapped in the bearing but still the brush runs for a while then stops, tries for a bit then stops again. I even tryed putting a bit of synthetic lubricant with apparently no result. Could it be a defective bearing? Thanks for your help.
