Having problems with your Fein 9-77-25 Turbo III Bagged Canister Vacuum ?

I have a Fein Turbo III shop vac for several years now...about a year ago, for no apparent reason it changed into a hideously LOUD beast! It's previously low decibel drone is now so loud it makes my ears ring afterwards...its sound is high pitched, almost like its hose is blocked, but it isn't...and suction remains good...I just can't take the sound...Help me.

Answers :

It sounds like the bearings in the motor are shot. You can try to get a replacement motor, or if you're a mechanical genius type, you might be able to repair the motor bearings. If the shaft is worn, you'll have to buy a new motor.
\015\012You can try oiling or greasing them, but they're hard to get at (and sometimes sealed) and this rarely has worked, in my experience.
\015\012Good luck, and hope this helps.

Was hoovering when my DC04 made a funny high pitched noise then a whirring noise, this was accompanied by a smell of burning and a puff of smoke! Almost sounds like it might be a clutch slipping, is this possible or is it more likely to be a motor burn out?

OK... the DC04 doesn't have a clutch. My best guess is that the belt that drives the brush roll has broken. The smell of burning and smoke puff were probably caused by the motor suddenly speeding up when freed of its burden of driving the brush roll. ... Vacuums

There seems to been a high pitched sound in the motor. I'd describe it as a 'dry' sound, and the high pitch of it is very loud. I want to stop vacuuming because it's so loud. Are there any oil/greasing points/spots? If so, how do I find them?

High pitched noise is not good. It may indicate that a bearing is going out. I would not use Kirby as it may lead to burned motor. If you feel that it vibrates quite a bit too - then it may be only broken fan blade.Fan blade - ... Kirby Generation 3 Bagged Upright Vacuum

High pitch My Hoover fusion vacuum cleaner began making a high pitch sound that makes it very annoying to vacuum. I cleaned all the things I could clean. I even cut out all the hair that was entangled in the brushes. Any idea what is causing the sound. It sounds like an siren is going off.

The Hoover Fusion has design flaws in the motor, including a metal plate that is too thin to contain the forces acting on the motor, particularly the constant strong tension from the drive belt, and a plastic plate that is attached to the metal plate ... Extreamly Loud this vaccuum has great sucking power I have used it about 4 times it is very loud it sounds like a screeming banshee. It actualy hurts your ears to use it. the filters are new the roller is clean and rotates freely what is the problem with it?

Most likely you have a bad motor bearing. It's a pretty common problem with vacuums of this type... a good way to check is to open the bottom where you replace the belt, and look at the motor pulley. I bought this vaccuum just a few months ago. Now it barely sucks anything up and it is making this very loud noise. It almost sounds like the brush is going to vibrate off. There is a high pitches nosie coming from my dyson. It mainly happens when the flooring type changes whilst hoovering. Everything else is ok. When I vacuum w/ the brush control in the on position it make a really loud noise, almost like a grinding sound. I have looked at it and nothing seems to be wrong, but I notice that the pin that engages the belt seems to vibrate a bit, possibly creating the noise. It started when I accidentally got part of a plastic grocery bag caught in the brush. Could it have stretched a belt? Nothing is caught any other place and it only makes the noise when the brush in in the on position.

Yes, the belt could have been stretched and is now vibrating and hitting other parts and creating a noise if much of the bag got caught under the belt. If you have another belt for this vacuum, please put it on and see if the noise stops. If it does ... Hoover U5780-900 Windtunnel Cyclonic Bagless UprightVacuum
