Majestic Filter Queen made a pop sound and sparked, around the top round area

\015 Hi! Thank God for this site and for all the kind people willing to share their knowledge! I LOVE my Majestic Filter Queen, so today when I was vacuuming, and heard a pop accompanied by a spark I panicked and turned it off. It seemed to come from the very top. Later I turned it on for a min, and it worked, but I'm scared to use it until I know what might have happened. Does anyone know what it might have been?Thank You,Michelle\015

It is a common fault as the power cord flexes - applies to any vacuum cleaner
can't help you with dismantling cos i'm in UK not US (little old england, cornwall to be exact)
however it is usually fairly obvious how to remove the top to get at the entry of the power lead
forget you are a woman and have a go!!
Probably the power cord fractured where it enters the machine

My Filter Queen just started making noise from the motor area, it was very hot. Upon removing the top thing that covers the area where the air blows out, there were sparks and it smelled pretty bad. My guess is the motor is shot. Is this difficult to change?

I have a 6 gallon shop wet or dry vac. The dust and dirt comes out around the base of the motor fin, not around the tank top. Now what? Oh I lost the filter around the drum that holds the ball, so I wrapped a rag around it and made it secure. Respectively: TOM

I have two older Filter Queen (brown vacuum cleaners). Besides unclogging the hose area and making sure it is not filled with dirt, what else would cause the machine to run hot and have a high pitched sound? Is there another area where I might have clogs?

I have a Filter Queen Majestic 360 and am having problems with the powerhead. There is a loud rattling noise in the powerhead, especially when I vacuum thicker carpet. I have replaced the motor, roller brush, and belt, but the rattling remains. It sounds like it is coming from the roller brush area, and when I turn the powerhead over, it rolls free and sounds fine. Any thoughts?

I just used my Bissell Proheat, when I heard the vacuum sound get lower and lower then suddenly something "gave" and it got very loud and started emitting a burnt rubber smell. It still worked to put liquid into the carpet; seemed to have trouble getting it out. I checked the tank, filters, belt, and roller and all seemed OK - but when I started up again and looked down I saw sparks in the motor/belt area and shut it down immediately. Any thoughts?

I'm not really a technician, but I used to sell Filter Queens and was taught how to maintain them, and have tackled "fixing" some problems. I am a 71 year old great-grandmother of 8, but have good health and am very active. The Filter Queen I have is r, usedeally old, and I have kept it up. Just this week, however, I turned it on and it had a noise which sounds like something might be loose in the motor. I have the Sharper Image EV-HD15 Cool Mist Humidier Ultrasonic 1.6 gal humidifier. I purchased it last year. Yesterday I took it apart to clean as per instructions. I took the unit apart again and rotated that round piece moving the opening away from the opening on the tower. The whirring sound was reduced but there was still a sou

Hmmm Hi there, I actually had tried everything you mentioned except for the vinegar idea which I'll do when I get back up to my home in Oregon. I checked for pinches, the heater, etc. Water does NOT come out of the accessory tool and only will dispense out of the main area for a second or two..any liquid actually starts filling up the area right behind the nozzles and around the pump instead of OUT of the machine. I checked gaskets, made sure there was a tight seal, and even made sure the little

I have an old Progressive vacuum cleaner that says "Hepa Filter" and "Whisper Belt". Not sure what the model # is. I noticed the Roomba's brushes were not sweeping, or turning so they could sweep. There was a new sound coming from the machine, the sound of grinding nylon! Upon inspection, I determined the problem to be a heat melted gear support hole. The hole was no longer round but oblong. You could see a ridge of plastic around this hole. So melting I believe was the culprit. The gear that uses that hole was then able to tilt to one side, thereby allowing the gear to disengage from the drive train. I

There is very little power and lots of sparking from the brushes on a Filter Queen motor out of Model 95.

Your motor needs major work. The brushes are probably the cause. My presumption is the armature is burned. \015\012\015\012You may be able to get a replacement from Filter Queen and it is worth a e-mail to them.\015\012\015 ... Filter Queen Majestic Canister Vacuum
