Why does my steamvac not suction the water up?

\015 My Hoover steamvac will not suction the water up from the carpet. \015\012What is causing this?\015

Typically there is a little red filter accessible from the bottom of the cleaner. Lay it down and flip it over to take a look. It's a little screen like filter. Large particles than can possibly cause a clog are filtered out there. Just pull it out (it will only come out part way) and clean the debris from it.

I have a Hoover Steam Vac also. Learned that trick the hard way. If that's not the problem (it usually is) then I will need the model number from your machine. Hopefully they didn't put it on the bottom of the machine where the numbers wear off. That's where mine was.

Lid must be secure...no vacuum leaks. Check around the edge while it is sucking for leaks. Otherwise, check float valve as described by Zashiban

I have a Bissell Pro 2x carpet cleaner. The water heats properly as well as spraying the cleaning product. However, when I go to suction the water from the carpets, the 2 in 1 water tank bladder works properly but there is no dirty water outside the bladder. I have only used this carpet cleaner ~ 5 times and in the beginning I had to empty the suctioned water quite frequently as it was dirty and it could not not hold any more water. So I have done 1 room and all the dirt remains in the carpet

My Bissell ProHeat 2x is pouring water out of the bottom anytime it's turned on. I had it in the shop for no water, took it back again for the same problem, took it back again because it had no suction, finally took it apart and found the problem with the suction and fixed it myself. Worked fine for a day and now it is constantly leaking water, if it's turned on, and is useless for anything except for making a mess.

Took the unit apart and discovered my heater had small pinholes in the metal and they had put in silicone, instead of a gasket, which didn't seal. Suction Problem I just borrowed the Hoover Steam Vac Deluxe w/ 5 brush agitator from my neighbor and it worked ok for the first few minutes, although the suction would stop and go. The Hoover Steamvac Widepath will NOT pick up water. The dispenser with cleaner DOES have water. The TANK that would receive the dirty water is NOT full. All tanks are on properly and the machine will still not pick up the used water. I found a tear in the interior hose leading to the receiving tank and repaired throughly with electrical tape. Still will not pick up the water. Any suggestions?

Sounds like a clogged air path (no vacuum action) from the floor pick-up to the collection tank. Take the tanks off and deal with the vacuum problem alone. Water is not being discharged. I have filled the reservoir that holds the carpet cleaner fluid And I have filled the water container. I know how to use the cleaner, it has always worked, But now, no water is being discharged to the carpet. I turn it on, squeeze the trigger, but nothing comes out. The wheel that is suppose to spin (to indicate that water is being discharged) is not spinning. Everything else works. I.e. the suction works, and the hand held accessories work.

Poor suction...continued Wow, thanks for answering so quickly! To answer your question, yes, there is suction at the screen, but it is very weak. I keep that screen clean. As a side note, I noticed that when I remove the top clear plastic cover (that would be part # 37 on the diagram, as far as I can tell) there is decent suction coming from the intake there--part 36? 30? it's hard to tell. But with the cover on, I feel no suction (from where it sucks up the water directly from the carpet),

Wish I had it in my shop, it is hard to figure your problem. I do know that you must have something out of place and you may have to take it apart to find it. You may feel some suction there at the top of the clear nozzle, but maybe it isn't strong ... Hoover F6212-900 / F6215-900 SteamVac Agility Upright Vacuum

No suction I just replaced the bag, and normally after this I have a lot of suction. Now that I have changed the bag I have less suction that I had before. Not even enough to picj up dog hair. I snaked he hose and checked all of the connections. It seems to have an air leak but no amount of tape will fix this. I cleaned the filer as well with warm water and dried it and re installed but still absolutely no suction. I am ready to throw it out! Any suggestions would be appreciated
