Repalcement of belt on Hoover F7425-900 Steam Cleaner

\015 The brushes are not bound by anything; it appears that the gear to brushes are connected to does not turn so it seems that the belt is is broken. How do I change the belt on the Hoover F7425-900 steam cleaer\015

To help out here the hood has 6 screws on the underside of the machine and 2 post snaps at the rear of the hood. They pop out when lifting the rear of the hood. The air motor is as described above, 2 on bottom and 2 on top. When removed the air motor again has 2 screws on the cover of the gear set and a couple clips which come loose readily when the screws are removed. This exposes the gear set. Remove the gears and free the air motor shaft. Clean, lubricate and reassemble. You should be good to go.\015\012 The Air motor is the only weak link in the machine. The bearings seize due to exposure as moist air is pulled through the air motor to drive the gear set. Great idea! Hoover should have used a stainless drive gear and bearings or a plastic bearing that would hold up to the RPM of the motor. Regardless, as is it will be plagued with the problem for the life of the machine unless you upgrade. Hoover may have solved this for all I know.\015\012Hint: The motor will not create any torque until the suction tank is in place. Oh, and keep the screen clean. That is the motor intake.
I am sorry, but there is no belt. The rotating metal shaft in the gear transmission is bound up. The hood must be removed, then two screws on the bottom side to the gear transmission need removed, and two on the top side. When the case is split on the gearbox, just turn the black turbine rotor several turns to free it up. If you are not comfortable with this repair, then it would need to go to a vac shop repair station.

Can you please tell me if there is a belt on this carpet cleaner and if so, how to access the belt? I have taken out some screws and still cant get to the belt? Thanks

Well there is no belt, and not sure what the rubber would be from, everything is plastic or metal. Unless it is really an electrical smell, which means the motor is going bad.\015\012\015\012 ... Hoover Vacuums

Beater brushes not turning on the wife's Hoover Steam Vac model F5905-900. Found one prior ''solution'' stating that it sounded like the belt was bad. That was my original thought, but on checking schematics and trying to find part numbers at Sears Parts Direct and at Hoover, it does not appear the F5905-900 steam vac HAS any belts to begin with. There appears to be only a bearing deflecting the belt, should there be a pully or other device mounted on this bearing? There is so much slack a
