Motor burned out need a replacement motor. Where can I buy one?

Answers :

Are you sure it's the motor? I thought that was the prob w/mine when the brushes quit spinning, but it was a little clear piece of plastic\015\012 inside the middle of the handle had cracked. This piece holds the \015\012switch in place and is probably made to fail. Make sure you unplug the \015\012machine before opening it. If you take off the carrying handle you can \015\012get the top half of the machine to come off. Set it aside. Now look \015\012into the top of the bottom half and see if your switch housing cracked \015\012like mine did. It cracked where it screws down so there was nothing to \015\012hold it anymore. (The black switch unplugs, BTW.) If you are creative,\015\012 this can be fixed by drilling two small holes to affix the switch to \015\012the clear part again. We also made a metal plate to hold down our clear\015\012 piece. Happy fixing! :)

My older Dyson DC14 (the purple one) early model with a clutch on the beater bar belt needs a clutch replacement. The bar has been cleaned and there are no worn or damaged parts so I conclude that the clutch at the motor end of the belt needs to be replaced. I can find the part online but no instructions on how to disassemble the vacuum to get to and replace it. Dysons only advice is to give me the address and phone of the nearest service center. Motor is sparking and smells like burning rubber. When it first happened I thought the vacuum had something jamming the beater bar. That was the smell it had, like when the belt gets burned. But when we turned it over, it wasn't jamming. Took off the base plate and turned it on. The motor area is sparking and it makes a weird noise (I assume that is because the motor fails and restarts). I looked for loose wires, can't find any. I believe I need some sort of part replaced, maybe even a n

I have an electrolux genesis upright vacuum that I bought used about 8 years ago. It has been A great vacuum the best I ever had. I thought the belt had come off so I took it in for repair. They called today and said that the brush rotor motor was bad and it would be around 148.00 dollars to repair. My question is could I buy the part and have my husband replace it or would it be too complicated. Can you still buy an electrolux vacuum comparable to this one and how much are they.
