Not sure if this will help but these machines are ment to be used in one direction not back and forth like a vacuum cleaner. You should start in one spot and pull towards you slowly with the trigger depressed it is designed to spray scrub and pick up the solution all in one pass by going back and forth you are pushing the rubber across dry parts of the floor and it will make noises. I know this sounds like a dumb problem to have for a vacuum but our 6 year old dyson has so much suction you can't move it across the floor. It only recently started doing this and I haven't done anything to it such as clean the filters in over 6 months. Any help would be appreciated

I heard that a class action lawsuit against Oreck Vacuum is being started because of all the problems customers are having with their vacuums. Does anyone know about this? My Oreck is only a couple of years old and keeps burning up belts. I took it in after only one week of usage when I started to notice white smoke coming out of it and the smell of burning rubber. I feel like I got the old run-around, when the service tech told me he couldn't find anything wrong (but replaced the burned up belt

I've got a Kenmore canister vacuum, Progressive 236123, and there's a burning smell from the belt side of the head--smells a lot like hot rubber. I've cleaned the agitator and changed the belt, but I still get the smell. It's stronger when I'm using "carpet" mode than when I'm using "bare floor" mode. Any ideas what the problem is?

Roomba Discovery Roomba is fully charged and cleaned with sensor wiped clean. When turned on it it sounds normal and commences to go, but it then acts like it is putting on the breaks, spins, tries to go and manages a short distance and breaks again, just not making any progress because it keeps breaking after a foot or so and turns and tries again. Sometimes is gets so stuck from moving forward at all, like it is stuck in one spot just trying to go while seemingly surrounded by barriers. Somet

Dyson animal won't start. Never had any problem with this vacuum. No apparent problem. No electrical problem with house or outlet. If there are some common things I could check/fix, things that might go wrong, I would like to check them out and get this machine going again.

Hi there, if the machine was running and cut out in use, this could be due to the motor overheating. The cause of this would be a blockage or a dirty filter. These checks can be found in the Support section on our website at www.dyson.com. ... Dyson DC07 Animal Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

Can the two inlet pipes be connected to one line? The central vacuum I have is probably from 1993/4. It has one exhaust pipe and two inlet pipes. It was initially under my stairs. I would like to move it and have in fact moved it to the garage but am now fitting the pipes. I would like to join the two pipes that were previously going to the two inlets into one pipe. Can I do it? Also would I then join the wires? Would I put a plate on the other inlet? THANKS. It is a SMART president's choice vac

Hi, I have a cleanview bagless model# 3576-2 and my belt keeps breaking (it seems like one of the rings it should wrap around is missing) right now I have been wrapping it around the brush and a metal rod. I have an animal dyson. The front nose dives into the carpet when moving the dyson in the forward motion, fine when pulling back. A huge amount of effort is required to move it forward. Took it to a technician and he said he could find nothing wrong. He had only short nap carpet for test. Works fine on short nap, if the carpet nap has any lenght to it like shag, the dyson severly nose dives. It's like the nose is sucked into the carpet. Something is moving around inside the vacuum (Dirt Devil Featherlite), sounds like plastic ou metal just rattling around and if left on too long it smell like burning. Can it be fixed?

Replaces the belt on dirt devil dynamite pluse model put everything back together started it and it burt the new belt up that fast. I put it around the beater brush and the metal bar I thought it should go around, yet it seemed like there should be something else there to put the belt on. What do you suggest? Do you have picture I could go by?

The metal bar you put it around if the bar itself does not spin it is going to burn the belt up. Every thing that the belt is supposed to go around has to turn or the belt will rub on the piece not moving and brake. ... Vacuums

Hello, I have a problem with my Eureka Powerline bagged upright vacuum. It has a 12 amp motor and is model #4352, Type D. It was probably bought new in 1998. My problem is, while vacuuming today the motor seemed to slow down all of the sudden and then began smelling like burning rubber. I shut the vacuum off to check for blockages but could not find anything blocked. When I then turned it on again it runs but seems to only be running at 1/2 the motor speed and still has the rubber buring smell.

It sounds like a rubber sealing in the motor has come loose and is being constantly rubbed against the walls of the motor with would cause the smell and loss of motor speed caused by the fricton of rubber against the rod so if you can get to the moto ... Vacuums

Hello! I have a problem with my Tefal Sensio scales. They are now probably around four years' old and have been in perfect working order up to now. Well, I had some problems before - the moment I'd step on them, instead of going into "calculating mode" as they usually do, they would show the number 92 straight away and then the display would change into some strange symbols (please don't laugh here :-) - my weight in kg is 55, my husband's around 80 and each of us gets 92 reading). I am trying to install a train air horn. i bought a viair compressor for it. the horns themselves have a 12 volt hookup going to what i believe is acting like a solenoid. when charged, you complete the circuit and walah, the horn blasts. the problem im having is when the compressor is building pressure, the air horn is automatically putting out a dull sound, getting louder as the pressure gets more and more. it sounds like its out of one horn however. it is doing that without the 12 v hookup. is

Dead motor? My 8 year old Miele S251i has worked fine, until I was recently vacuuming and moved the plug from one outlet to another. When I restarted the vacuum, it made rrrrr.....rrrrrr....rrrrr noises and smelled like something was burning. I turned it off, and it's shown no signs of life since. Sound like a motor problem? Shampoo-er This seems to be a common problem, the shampooer is putting out alot of water and hardly any suds. I read through the posts about the little filter that sometimes gets out of place and I think I found it in the box - is it about 1" diameter hard plastic ring around very fine mesh? If so where exactly does it go? Some posts say in the hose, and others say in the opening of the tank. Or does it go in the place where the hose attaches to the tray? I also found a round sponge in the box o
