Why won't our Hoover Floor mate deliver water for cleaning?

\015 \015\012Our Hoover Floor Mate will not deliver water to the floor for cleaning when pushing the trigger on the handle.\015

After reading postings I created my own solution. I took a 1.5cm (approximate length) flush head finishing screw and screwed it into the button contact of the white memebrane and adjusted it to the necessary heigth to make the rod depress at the corrrect depth. My initial placement was too high and I had a continuos flow of water, but was able to fine tune. Also note the head of the screw I used was a similar circumference of the nob of the white membrane.
The trigger is connected via a piece of plastic that tends to bend over time. I brought it into the shop and they added an extension to it and it worked again. Can a metal rod replace the plastic? I don't know, since I hadn't pulled the unit apart. Like you, I had no idea what the problem was so I brought it in. If you are handy, this may help you save the cost of the repair. Incidentally, I was told that this is a VERY common problem.

I have the Hoover max Extract 77 and when I'm cleaning the carpet, the clean water tank leaks on the floor, even if I'm not squeezing the trigger. The clean tank doesn't leak when I fill it, but once I place it where it fits and start using the vacuum, the clean water drains out on the floor. The dirty tank fills up, so the suction works, but, I don't know what is going on?

I used my Hoover FloorMate, SpinScrub Hard Floor Cleaner for the first time today. My intent was to clean the grout in my kitchen/family room floor. Since the water was dirty I know it cleaned the grout but I was only so-so pleased with the results. Any hints? What about the grout solution? Do you mean I can only use the Hoover product?

I assume this unit has no mechanism to turn the brush but instead using the air flow to activate the brush, in this instance it could be that there is dirt which is caught up in the brush which is stopping the rotation.A nice good clean and make sure ... Hoover Vacuums
