Having problems with your Hoover H3030 FloorMate SpinScrub 500 Upright Wet/Dry Vacuum ?

Motor runs, but noisey, smells hot, brushes don't turn

Answers :

Joyce sounds like its time to look at the rollers they most likley have strings hair ect if tou know how to remove the roller you might want to get a pair of sissors and get to work what your smelling is the belt getting cloged with debre or all the stuf on the roller is slowing it down notice if you pull the brush off you can also pull the end rollers off a clean them out notice when sliding roller back in those end caps only slide in one way some endcaps say old or new just match them up correctly dont for the belt and belt grove any problems get back to me
First you need to check why the brushes are not turning, this could be due to a lack of suction, which means the smell of heat and excess noise is due to a faulty motor, this can also be tested simply by testing the units suction power.
\015\012 A faulty motor is the most comon problem when it comes to smells of heat or 'ozone' as well as excessive noise. Good Luck.

HI, my motorized brush barely turns. It makes a hot rubber smell. I took apart and noticed the spindle the belt turns on discolored from heat. Cleaned it, but still no turning of the brush. The vac is a hoover wind tunnel. As it moved accidentally touched the belt/ spindle and burned my hand a little. Very hot in area. Bright spark from motor noted. Was careful not to touch that part!

That means that the belt is stretched and it is slipping on the motor shaft, that is why it is hot and smells like burning rubber. You need to replace the belt. Here is the correct belt you need: ... Hoover S3765-040 WindTunnel Bagless Canister Vacuum

Model # 5770 the brush motor runs and shuts down after a few seconds...Turn unit off and the brush again will run for a second or two...If I don't turn unit off brush will not start up..Could it be the printed board..the motor brushes..or the wiring that goes from the printed board to the main motor...Thank you

Have a Centralux Aerus about 5 years old. Don't see a model number. There is suction but beater brush quit working. Was using for a few minutes, shut it off for a few minutes, turned it back on and suction only. Tried the reset button also. Tried the sidekick attachment and it works fine. There was no smell like something was hot. Belt is fine. Are there any fuses or anything else to try? Hello, I have a problem with my Eureka Powerline bagged upright vacuum. It has a 12 amp motor and is model #4352, Type D. It was probably bought new in 1998. My problem is, while vacuuming today the motor seemed to slow down all of the sudden and then began smelling like burning rubber. I shut the vacuum off to check for blockages but could not find anything blocked. When I then turned it on again it runs but seems to only be running at 1/2 the motor speed and still has the rubber buring smell.

It sounds like a rubber sealing in the motor has come loose and is being constantly rubbed against the walls of the motor with would cause the smell and loss of motor speed caused by the fricton of rubber against the rod so if you can get to the moto ... Vacuums

My Bissell Model 3760-4 is not working properly. The belt has been replaced (and checked 3 times), but the brush bar does not move when the brush motor button is on. The little metal turning piece that turns the belt is turnable with one's finger when the belt is off, but when we put it all back together and turn on the vacuum, the brush bar does not go around and the burning belt smell returns. The portable part of the machine works properly. It's the brush bar. It has been cleared of hair, etc
