I am trying to disassemble a electrolux 2100. I have looked at instructions given by Chemist 1961 and others. On the side, I have removed the rubber covers over the plastic rails but I can't remove the plastic rails that hold the rubber covers on. If I am right, these rails should just slide right out and the outer casing should come part.....or am I doing something wrong. I have pulled and pulled the rails and they don't budge. The rear end won't pop off. Help!

There's a tab at the back of the rail that needs to be released. Turn the vacuum on it's side, slip the tip of a standard screwdrive into the space between the rail and the back of the vacuum, and tap lightly with a hammer. Tap toward the front of ... Electrolux Lux 5500 Canister Vacuum

No suction Just received my refurb. dyson animal bagless. Finally figured out how to get it all together, turned it on and there is no suction coming up thru the beater bar. The hair is just collecting around the bar and not going up into the canister. It appears all the suction is going thru the open red end of the attachment hose, which has a vented cover piece. Am I missing a piece or is there a switch to turn of the attachment suction?

So the red hose isn't connected to a part on the vaccum so like it is connected to the connester but not to an opening just above the beater bar, this is the only idea i can supply you with. good luck, maybe i got lucky and helped you out. ... Dyson DC17 Animal Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

How to dismantle a Miele S 5980 vacuum cleaner. The RESET switch has fallen in and I can't remove the plastic panel to replace it. Neither can I remove the cleaner body to get in from beneath. I have removed 2 screws from the front of the barrel (nozzle end), one screw centre front, two screws towards rear, but there seems to be something else holding the housing together. The beater bar makes a loud noise and something is cutting into on the end opposite of the belt. I have taken it apart and cannot find anything that appears to be out of place. Lynnette

DC07 DYSON REPLACEMENT HOSE. HOW DO YOU REMOVE IT FROM THE HANDLE. I have a kenmore whispertone 8540 canister vaccum. The electrical wires (3) to power the beater are embedded in the hose, in a spiral fashion. The yokes that hold the hose on both ends (and attach to the beater on one end and the unit on the other) have no screws or pressure latches; i don't want to use brute force as i may damage the attachment device inside the yoke. The belt on my used Eureka Boss 5857 upright slips off the end of the motor shaft every time the vacuum is used. When I turn the brush roll slowly by hand, the belt walks toward the end of the shaft. It looks like there was a plastic projection from the base that snapped off, and maybe that plastic piece used to block the belt from falling off. Do I need to try to reconstruct that plastic piece, or is something else wrong?

Dyson animal dc14 - beater spins but vacuum not working - not clogged - is there a reset or is it something else?

Replaces the belt on dirt devil dynamite pluse model put everything back together started it and it burt the new belt up that fast. I put it around the beater brush and the metal bar I thought it should go around, yet it seemed like there should be something else there to put the belt on. What do you suggest? Do you have picture I could go by?

The metal bar you put it around if the bar itself does not spin it is going to burn the belt up. Every thing that the belt is supposed to go around has to turn or the belt will rub on the piece not moving and brake. ... Vacuums

I am replacing a foot pedal on an upright Sharp vacuum cleaner-EC-TU2607. I have the broken foot pedal removed from vacuum cleaner proper but it is the removal of the broken pedal from its spring load that has me puzzled. I applied some pulling effort on the pin that holds the spring in place but there doesn't seem to be any give. Is that the correct approach or is there something else that one should be doing first to release some of the resistance by the pin or spring? Thanks!

When I engage the beater roller it will work for a short time (15-20 seconds) and then squeel loudly as if something is not engaging properly. I checked the roller ends and cleaned them but it seems to roll freely by hand while connected to the belt and then at a time it becomes very hard to turn by hand.

I have a Eureka Boss Power Plus and the beater bar is rolling, the belt is turning, but after vacuuming up around the litter box (not a lot of litter), when I turn the vacuum off, the litter, or even household dirt, falls out. Have a Centralux Aerus about 5 years old. Don't see a model number. There is suction but beater brush quit working. Was using for a few minutes, shut it off for a few minutes, turned it back on and suction only. Tried the reset button also. Tried the sidekick attachment and it works fine. There was no smell like something was hot. Belt is fine. Are there any fuses or anything else to try? I have an Electrolux Commercial Upright vacuum Model U129C. It has a device which turns off the motor driving the beater bar if something gets stuck in it. There is a simple reset button to restart the beater after clearing the obstruction. Just recently on flat dense low pile surfaces the switch cuts in after just a few seconds and turns the beater bar off. This doesn't happen on high pile carpet but the motor doesn't quite sound normal. There is no obstruction - the beater bar can spin freely
