I have a Husqvarna Embroidery Card reader/writer for a Viking Rose sewing machine, and I want to know if I can plug a 8-volt power supply into it. During our move the power attachment go separated and I don't want to risk the wrong voltage. The unit is for an older machine, not the USB version that is now in use, Thank you in advance.

The Reader/Writer's power cord is a transformer, with input 120VAC 60Hz, 9 Watt. Output is 12VAC 500mA. The connector is a standard small round plug-in. The one we have appeard to be generic and is labeled only " ... Vacuums

Our kenmore progressive model #11634922 was working fine today. And then - it's not. Plugged in - nothing is working on it. We let it cool down (though it didn't seem hot). Still nothing - no light, no motor. Tried it in some other plugs that we know are functioning well - and still nothing. Any idea what might be wrong with it? It's six years old but doesn't get heavy use. Thanks so much ~ Susan Golden

The last time the vacuum cleaner was used the outlet sparked causing it to smoke when turning on vacuum cleaner. I replaced the outlet and plugged it in and things seemed o.k. Today I turned on the vacuum, it stayed on for a mili second and went off. I checked the switch on the vacuum and it showed voltage coming and going, but would not turn on again. I checked all the wires in the area of the switch all seemed o.k. I thought maybe there might be a short in the cord. When I went to plug

The Power carpet sweep attatchment when plugged in runs on and off intermittitly. (Cuts on and off) It has barely been used What is wrong I don't see any loose wires

Try pushing into valve just a little more. If that doesn't solve the problem, it's probably a loose wire in the hose, wands or power nozzle. Could be the circuit breaker in the power nozzle. Contact your installer or a local vacuum cleaner repair cen ... Electrolux Central Vacuum

Make sure your gasket at the bottom is sealing correctly. This can cause lots to get by the cyclones and fill up your filter. You could take your Cyclone apart and clean it. I am getting very little suction from the motor. The hose is clear, the bag new. When I open the bag cover, plug the hose in and turn the vacuum on, there is next to no suction from the motor. What do you think is wrong? How do I remove the cord retractor to get to the two screws that hold the back of the canopy cover?

Your problem is probably is you don't have a proper seal in your chasis. A vacuum has to be sealed tight or the air will leak out and the seal broken. Check around the whole body after the bag is in and check for any airflow noise. I could help more ... Vacuums

Nutone Broan CV556 runs continuously and will not shut off until I unplug it.. I disconnected the low voltage wires and it still runs when I plug it in. Inside the top of the vacuum are 3 electrical devices - one looks like a transformer wire -- one is a rectangular electronic black box. The third is an on off rocker switch. Which piece it likely to be shorted out? It is about 8 years old.

Dead motor? My 8 year old Miele S251i has worked fine, until I was recently vacuuming and moved the plug from one outlet to another. When I restarted the vacuum, it made rrrrr.....rrrrrr....rrrrr noises and smelled like something was burning. I turned it off, and it's shown no signs of life since. Sound like a motor problem? I've taken the cover off and looked at the cord and seen the motor, nothing looks obviously wrong, but I'm also not mechanical.

110-220V Dear Sir, I purchased a kirby sentria vacuum cleaner from ebau two weeks ago. I currently resid in the UAE with 220V power. My maid has plugged the vacuum to work with it unaware of the voltage difference, a terrble noise as mentioned came from the cleaner as well as a smell. She unlugged it and stopped t from operating. Can you please let me know how can i assess the damage? If this model has a switch from 110 to 220V IS there a solution with transfromer or motor to make it work? Thank

You may have burnt up the motor field when it was plugged into a 220V power source. But there are drop down transformers you can get to reduce the voltage form 210 to 110. AS Radio Shack or similar store would have them. ... Kirby G4 Bagged Upright Vacuum

My shark steamer has stopped working after a year of having it (I have already replaced one, I'm a idiot!). My problem; however, is that it will steam, but the steam stops traveling through the actual "mop" part. I plugged it in, wait seconds and start pumping, but the steam builds up until it's hard to pump. I had to press the button really hard for the bottom to come off and it shot off like a rocket! I tried to stick something through the tubing, but it did nothing. What am I doing wrong? I
