Having problems with your Hoover S3765-040 WindTunnel Bagless Canister Vacuum ?

Power brush motor seems too weak

\015 It turns fine on hard surface, but on some carpets it just stops rotating and at least one time the motor threw the belt off so I needed to put it back on. It supposed to adjust "automatically" to the length of the carpet but it certainly doesn't. Kind of unexpected for a brand new vac (just got it yesterday). Ideas?\015

Answers :

That all sounds very reasonable, except it wasn't the belt that was\015\012having problems turning the brush -- it was the motor itself. All that\015\012mostly happens on one particular carpet in my house, made of a pretty\015\012hard material. I didn't want to completely kill the motor and finally\015\012wound up trimming the bristle a bit. So far, it appears to be working.
This machine needs a new belt. The belt is stretched into position and even if it is not used, will fatigue over time. This can occur as the machine is in storage waiting to be sold. If you check the bristle on the roller, you will observe that it extends out the bottom of the powerhead quite far and is very stiff. This causes the brush to engage the carpet very aggressively and puts considerable strain on the belt. A tired belt will fail very quickly under these conditions. You should take it to a warranty depot and have the belt changed.
\015\012This machine also has variable speed motor in the main unit. This is so you can adjust how heavily the powerhead brushes the carpet. If it is set too high, on certain carpets, the suction will pull the powerhead down too hard and this will bogg the roller and cause the belt to fail prematurely.

Our unit is 7024A Electrolux Oxygen 3 - it seems to work great but suddenly, the head or 'power brush' or whatever it is called - has died. I checked by removing the hose and plugging it directly into the body, but it is still dead. Without that motorized head working, the vacuum is useless. Is it worth replacing? The unit is only about 1 year old and has seen light use only. Very frustrating, since it was the most expensive unit in the store:(

My bissell model 18Z6 has developed a loud noise and vibration when the brush is running. I have removed the brush assy and cleaned all the hair, etc but still the noise. I ran the brush motor with the belt disconnected and all seemed ok, but of course there was no load on the motor. I suspect a problem with the brush assy bearings or axle or both but I hate to just throw parts at the problem. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There is no power...seems like a motor problem. The bag is clean...the mouth is clean the plug us in...NOTHING! I took mouth off and manipulated/pushed in that power press area that engages the motor on the front (not the switch on the back) and NOTHING! Not sure if motor died and/or what to do now. Help. I have had this baby for 15 years.

The front safety switch must be pushed in by either the hose or head (or manually), before the on/off switch will operate. The most common reason for no power is a bad cord. Second most common is worn carbons in the motor, and third is a bad switch. ... Kirby G4 Bagged Upright Vacuum
