Catch tank empty

\015 First time using Hoover Steamvac. Follow instruction to clean rug. Looked like everything was working. Rug looked cleaner. Used about 1/2 of cleaner tank. When I went to empty the catch tank, it was dry. What could be wrong? I thought I went slow.\015

Which you had posted your model number, If you have a foam filter on the inside of tyhe recovery tank lid, make sure there is at least a 1/4 in. gap between the lid and the top of the filter. Make sure that the lid is locked down in the back, try to push it up, if it is locked it won't move. If yours has a place for a duct in front of the recovery tank, make sure it is there and pushed all of the way down.
