I vacummed some sheetrock duct up with my hoover elite cyclonic.. i dumped the canister to empty the dirt and dust, but now theres not as much suction... is there any other area I should be cleaning... or can i submerse the plastic filter part in water?

Do not put the filter in water, it will ruin it. if banging out the filter did not work than you should probably replace it, sheet rock dust is very fine and will easily clog most filters. ... Vacuums

Poor suction We bought a model home about 11 years ago and it had the Cental M&S Cyclonic Cleaning system. The suction has steadily been weakening. Now it is almost non-existant. I clean the filter bag in the main unit, but how clean does it need to be. Could there be a clog in the wall lines. If yes, how does one unclogg them. Thank you. I liked the system and would hate to just give up on it. Jean

I lost the detergent container on my Hoover Model F7220-900. Its a small plastic bottle that sits on the back of the clean water tank. I called the help desk and they told me that they no longer make that part so I have to pay $55 to replace the whole tank which will come with a detertent container built in. The whole carpet cleaner was only worth about $225 new. I don't feel I should have to pay $55 for a part I don't need but the machine is worthless without it. Any good ideas to solve th
