Having problems with your Hoover U5780-900 Windtunnel Cyclonic Bagless UprightVacuum ?

Agitator bar makes a rattling sound when engaged.

\015 I have a hoover U5780 900 less than one month old. \302\240When I first got it, it was very quiet. \302\240Now, however, when I engage the carpet agitattor, it makes a raatling sound like there is something stuck inside. \302\240I took of the baseplate, and there is nothing in there. \302\240It seems like the bar is coming in contact with the housing somehow.\015

Answers :

If you have caught anything like shoes laces in it. you will have to replace the agitator and also the v-belt. when you catch something in the machine and don't have enough time to turn it off, it can cause the v-belt to cut into the v channel that the v-belt sitts in. hope this helps
Unfortunately, you may need a new brush roll.

Had my dyson root cyclone for about 4 years now, and in the last year it's had a few problems. About 4 months ago it started to make this awful grinding sound when the roller bar was engaged and I took it to a repair shop and they said it was the roller bar itself. The shop replaced the part and it worked fine for a couple of months and then it started to make the grinding noise again. I tried the clutch reset suggestion (turn it on its side and turn the carpet/bare floor switch slowly back and

Hi. We have a Riccar N2100 vacuum cleaner, which has served us well for many, many years. I'd like to attempt a repair on this unit, and looking for advice and/or a parts diagram to proceed. The unit makes a groaning sound when shut off. The sound tapers off in pitch as the motor and beater bar come to a stop. The sound only happens when the vacuum cleaner is turned off in the normal upright position. The sound does not happen when the lower unit and main housing are both laying flat. I took

My Dyson CDC14 Animal just started making a wierd sound coming from the rotating brush area. I already cleaned around the brush, sounds like a fast rattling sound.

I have a DC14. About a wk ago it was making loud sound and bar stopped turning. i unclogged everything....now the suction works great. However, the bar still wont turn. The belt inside is still intact and isnt loose. Several solutions suggested resetting the "Red" button...i have searched the vacuum over and over. there is NO red or any other color reset button. The bar is set down perfectly in there, the cover plate is installed properly. What other problems could there be? Or do i just need to

When I vacuum w/ the brush control in the on position it make a really loud noise, almost like a grinding sound. I have looked at it and nothing seems to be wrong, but I notice that the pin that engages the belt seems to vibrate a bit, possibly creating the noise. It started when I accidentally got part of a plastic grocery bag caught in the brush. Could it have stretched a belt? Nothing is caught any other place and it only makes the noise when the brush in in the on position.

Yes, the belt could have been stretched and is now vibrating and hitting other parts and creating a noise if much of the bag got caught under the belt. If you have another belt for this vacuum, please put it on and see if the noise stops. If it does ... Hoover U5780-900 Windtunnel Cyclonic Bagless UprightVacuum

I have the Eureka 4870 "The Boss" Smart Vac. The beater bar began to turn constantly and can't be shut by moving the Brush Roll Contol to Bare Floor position or the machine to the upright postion. It has also eaten two new belts. A local tech says he has seen this problem whereby the free-wheel assembly that makes contact with the belt to engage the beater bar is misalgned and cannot disengage. It is usually the chassis which would mean replacement of enough parts that would not be worthwhile

My Dyson DC 14 is making the horrible "ratcheting"sound only when the brush is engaged on the carpet setting. I have cleaned the brush, so there are no obstructions, the canister is empty and properly on the unit. I checked to make sure all of the "traps" and hoses are clear of obstructions, the belt is on the brush securely and moves freely, the brush itself spins freely, but there is still the "ratcheting" noise. Any other suggestions?

Our DC33 was making the same ratcheting sound immediately upon placing the cleaner/brush head on the carpet. We carefully pulled the beater/brush bar out of the vacuum. Once removed, we pulled the black plastic end off of the center rod. We discovere ... Dyson DC14 Animal Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

The head on my canister vac vibrates, smells and makes a bad sound. When I took it apart the inside of the "end brush tufted" piece had bits of the plastic broken off. Should I replace the Agitator Unit Assy or could this be the motor?

My Dyson animal seems to have an electrical issue that I am unable to pinpoint. Neither the wand nor the floor vac have any suction AT ALL. I replaced the agitator bar drive belt on a Hoover Model U6432-900 upright vacuum cleaner, but it just slips when the drive wheel is spinning. Is there an adjustment I need to make? I don't see any adjustment spots.

You probably should have replaced the flat belt(38528035) also. But the drive belt has a idler wheel(#13) to engage it, is it riding on the belt, if not if may have jammed to one side and able to spring up against the V belt. It could have broke al ... Vacuums

I have a Necchi 522, an early mechanical stretch stitch machine. The timing and stitching are great, but over the past few projects I have noticed a balky tendency when I press the knee bar. After my last project the motor almost won't engage. Sometimes there is no sound, and sometimes there is a weak whirring, but no action until I push the hand wheel. I have a feeling that it is either the v belt or that the motor needs new brushes. Are either of these ideas likely, and if so, are they self
