Having problems with your Hoover U6437-900 / U6439-900 Windtunnel Bagged Upright Vacuum ?

How do i replace off/on switch on a hoover bagged self propelled?

Answers :

To replace the switch on the Hoover U6437-900 do the following:
\015\012Unplug the vacuum from the wall socket. Remove the bag door from the front of the vacuum. Just above the bag door you will see two screws that hold on the front portion of the section that holds your tools. Remove the two screws and then the front cover, you may want to revove the tools, 3 in total, to make sure there are no other screws hold the front cover in place. Behind the front cover you will find the on/off switch to remove and replace. Once the switch is replaced, test the vacuum to make sure it comes on, before you reasemble it. There is a plastic rod that comes down from the handle that trips the switch and moves it to the on / off position.

I have had both of these since 2004 and they were fairly expensive $200 each) but if the repairs are prohibitive, I might as well get new vacuums. Suggestions? I just spent $100 for bel
