Having problems with your Hoover U6476-900 WindTunnel Vacuum ?
Replacing belt but where is the motor shaft
\015 Hi! I took my vacuum apart to find out why it wasn't sucking up dirt (otherwise known as vacuuming ha ha). I found the flat belt wasn't attached on both ends. One end was attached to the brush roller, but the other wasn't attached at all. So, I knew what the problem was and went to the manual to find out how to attach it. It said to attach the other end to the motor shaft, but I can't find it anywhere! That sounds very silly I know but the manual's picture is pretty poor and looking around my vacuum I can't seem to find anything like that to attach it to! I'm desperate because I'm sick so I'm stuck at home but I'm leaving early Friday morning to go out of town and need the vacuum to work before I go! Any pictures to show me or a video or something would be so appreciated!\015

Which I got from the previous owner. I took it to a vacuum repair place and he replaced it with belt # 38528-027 J4. I cannot find this belt anywhere.
I have a Kirby Dual Sanitronic '50' Vacuum Cleaner I bought in 1966. The motor does not start when I attach the belt lifter of the rug nozzle. When I remove the rug nozzle and detach the belt from the motor fan shaft the motor starts when I depress the nozzle switch and the power switch . Seems like the brushes in the motor are worn out. I do not have a manual for this unit. Can you assist me as to what newer unit is this compatible to and the problem I'm having at present??

The belt on my used Eureka Boss 5857 upright slips off the end of the motor shaft every time the vacuum is used. When I turn the brush roll slowly by hand, the belt walks toward the end of the shaft. Belts breaking/melting The original belt broke at almost 1 year so I replaced it. I changed the carpet setting to shag even though my carpet is very low pile to make it easier on the vacuum. I didn't get to use it but just a couple minutes and could already start smelling the new belt getting hot. I checked the roller and it is easy to spin. Not clogged with hair or dirt. I replaced the belt as I have done before on Self-Propelled Vision. When turned on it is very loud and left on too long will smoke and you can smell the belt deteriorating. I do not feel this is a belt issue. There is either something wrong with motor or some kind of friction I am unaware of. How do I check?
The best way to check if the motor is burning or not is to go back into the unit and take the belt off of the motor shaft. If the unit does the same thing and burns or even if the lights flicker when the unit is on, then it is definitely the motor. ... Dirt Devil Vision Turbo W/Bonus Upright Vacuum Vacuum

Replacement parts... I've got a 3594 Bissell and the belt has come completely off. In the process of breaking, it bent the metal guide inside the motor housing and melted the plastic that holds the guide and keeps the belt inline with the roller.
