Having problems with your Hoover U6476-900 WindTunnel Vacuum ?

I have a hoover wind tunnel model# u6476-900 and I'm having trouble replacing the belt. The extra belt that came with it was belt # 38528-035 and it's smaller then the old one and I'm having a hard time putting it on. Is this the right size belt?

Answers :

Yes it is the right belt. the easiest way to get that belt on is to put it on the motor shaft first, stretch and start at the top of the self propelled pulley and rotate til the belt tracks on. you will need to keep pressure on the belt while you rotate the pulley. make sure you install the 38528-034 first before the flat belt

I have two old identical 5842's that I use in the garage and around the house. The belt broke on one so I bought a bag of 2 genuine Eurika "U" belts, which is the correct belt for this vacuum. They were obviously smaller than the original belt because they were not stretched out. When I put the new belt on it lasted about 20 minutes and then came off. I put it back on and ran the vacuum with the cover off to see what was wrong. Everything looked fine except the belt rides to the outside edge of

I am trying to change an old fashioned fuse, (house lights), luckily had a spare one. Have put the 15amp fuse wire through the whole thing, and trying to describe if I've got it right is alitle awkward, this is what i've done, cut a piece of 15amp wire a little longer than the old one, then loking at it, taken it straight through and round to left as I'm looking at it, and put the screw in, and obviously done the same for other side. My problem is that I don't remember taking the screws out of w

I have a Kirby Heritage II which normally works amazingly well, but it's not playing at all nicely today - and of course we have apartment inspections tomorrow. *dies* The belt broke today (as did the replacement belt, which I'd bought at the same time, so apparently the rubber was old), so I went over to Stark's to get some new ones - but it still won't cooperate. I've taken the head apart and put it back together several times, to be sure that everything is properly seated, but it's just not

I have a Eureka 4870GZ. It turns on, but the brush roller doesn't move. The belt looks fine. I do have an extra belt and would try replacing the old belt, but I can't get the old one off the motor shaft or the new one on. I called Eureka customer service. Hi There I have got a Kirby 2 HG vaccum cleaner which is around 20 years old now. It was going really well until last week when one of the capacitors which are connected to the brushes blew up. There is two capacitors one for each brush. One of them completely blew to bits and the other one is still intact. My question is are they the same size and where do I get a new one from. I know it is an old machine, but I would like to fix it and get it going again. Any tips???

Windtunnel belt I have a new Hoover Windtunnel canister. The belt keeps coming off. It happened a couple weeks ago (several times after putting the belt back on) so I assumed I might need a new belt as it might have dried out at the store. My machine (Hoover Wind Tunnel - bagless) is only 1 yr. old. The agitator brush doesn't turn all the time. I know it's not supposed to turn when in the upright position.
