Having problems with your Hoover U6616-900 WindTunnel Bagless Upright Vacuum ?

Hoover u6616-900 WindTunnel, belts come off system.

\015 It appears that the circular piece, (which has the belts on it) that is on the shaft does not stay tight as it should against the unit. I believe there is suppose to be a nut holding it tight, which fell out of the cleaner when I took the bottom piece off. Thus the belts do not stay tight in position as they should. I can't seperate the top cover from the internal parts so I can put the nut back on and tighten it in place. It seems like there has to be an easy way to do this, but I am just missing it.\015\012Thanks in advance afo any help you may be able to give me with this.\015

In order to seperate the hood from the agitator housing you will need to remove the screws for the bottom plate (4) remove the plate. next you will see (2) screws. one will be by the belt side the other is on the other side by the sucktion inlet. once the screws are off, take a flat head screwdriver and push the tabs (2)on either side of the plastic where the hood meets the agitator housing. once you do this the hood should release itself. hope this helps

It happened a couple weeks ago (several times after putting the belt back on) so I assumed I might need a new belt as it might have dried out at the store. I have tried it centered, to the left and to the right....can you help. I am v

Good Morning, A friend recently gave me her Hoover windtunnel model U630-900 vacuum. It is a self propelled vac. On several occasions the belt has come off the Hoover Windtunnel beater shaft and had to be re-installed. Is there any way to prevent it from slipping off? The shaft seems to be made so that the middle if it is wider(thicker than either the end or the part closer to the motor, which, to me, is a bad design so I don't know how to overcome this problem. I'd be very grateful for a permanent solution to this problem. Thanks in Advance, mas
