Having problems with your Hoover U6630-900 WindTunnel Bagless Upright Vacuum ?

Self propel will go foward, but will not reverse. Seems like handle is all the way extended.

Answers :

My machine wont go forward or reverse. The handle wont move up or down but just a little which slightly moves the actuator piece. The switch wont disengage to the off position either. I have tightened the cable and loosened it also. No change. What am I overlooking? This is really frustrating.
There is a cable that connects to the handle and goes down to the powerdrive transmission. It is visible at the actuator arm on the drive if you look at the bottom of the handle where it pivots on the main housing. It will be on the right hand side, front corner of the handle bottom. You should be able to see the cable connected to the arm of the drive and will move back and forth with the top handle. Sometimes, they break at this connection. The cable may be frayed and broken, or the acuator arm may be broken where the cable connects.
\015\012This could also be a simple worn belt problem. The roller is always rotating in a direction that pulls the machine forward and if the belt is worn, the roller will turn sluggishly but still enough to pull forward, but the belt also drives the transmission and a worn belt will not have the capacity to overcome the forces involved to propel the machine backwards. Always change the belt(s) yearly.(on average)

G-5 Kirby self-propel works intermitently. The handle must be jiggled until it engages forward. The same for reverse. Once underway it will continue indefinitely until the need to change direction. Jiggle go forward, jiggle go in reverse. It seems as though it helps to push the handle at an angle to the left depressing the switch on the left side at the base of the vacuum head.

Sounds like a loose wire, the wire is connected to the handle, you may be able to fix this yourself but be careful you can void the warranty by doing it your self. (most people make the problem worse) remember your kirby has a lifetime warranty (limi ... Kirby Ultimate G Bagged Upright Vacuum

Hi, I have a Dirt Devil Model # M08100REDC. I desperately need to change the bag, but I don't see an obvious way to do it. I'm afraid to try pulling on the cloth tab thingy that's just below the handle, between the rubber ring that holds the bag on the vac, because it seems like stuff will fly everywhere from the force required to remove it, and I might not be able to get it back on there. Should I just pull on that cloth tab until the bag comes off? Thanks, Roberta

You can pull on the tab to remove the bag, but probably a better way is to gently pull on the rubber ring that attaches the bag to the back of the vacuum body. If you don't yank and ****, it should come off without spilling the dirt. There may also b ... Dirt Devil Classic M08100 Bagged Handheld Vacuum

Hoover U6637-960 the self propel is not not working. When lowering the handle it acts like it would like to work but the roller will not turn. appears to be something to do with the self propel part of the handle . took the screws aout but can not get it apart. Is there another belt of something in there?

This vac has 2 belts. If both self propel and roller not spinning then most likely it is the wide flat belt broken or off. 4 screws on the bottom should gain you access to the belt area. another issue for this model series is a worn pulley on the rol ... My dyson DC05 has been playing up for a while. The motorhead would start fine with green light on and after a few minutes would stop and light would go green. then the power would go on and off - seemed to only work when I had the handle a certain way. Now no power at all. is there a way that I can check if its the power in the handle section as thats the only way you can turn this machine on? Thanks in advance

Filter I bought this Hoover a few years ago-- just now about to use it first time. I cannot find my user's manual and don't know how to change the filter-- or to clean it or whatever I am supposed to do with it. Also, there is a handle on one side of the unit that seems to be attached to an empty chamber or canister kind of thing. It looks like it should pull out, but it does not budge. Hoover Upright Bagless WindTunnel does not self propel (U6625-900). Belts are new, Brush turns strongly. Wheels propel forward very weakly and do not reverse when the handle is pulled backward. I have an Easy-Flo central vac unit. The handle on the electric hose has a switch on the handle. With the switch on ''O'' in the center, it's off. On the left, is the ''I'' position. The vacuum runs but the power brush doesn't. On the right is the ''II'' position. The switch won't flip that way. It feels stuck. It feels as if there is something underneath of it that won't let it push that direction. I have the switch out of the handle, but I can't seem to get the actual black casing around the
