I just got the majestic and it doesn't seem to have a lot of suction power- I ran water thru the hose and it drained out fine I also put the hose on top and blew it out. Could it still be the hose?-or does it sound like a bigger problem?

Did you change the filter cone? Clogged pores can and do inhibit airflow. Bent fan blades can be another problem. Holes, slits, and cracks, no matter how small, in the hose can result in reduced suction.\015\012And you should NEVER run water ... Filter Queen Majestic Canister Vacuum

Lost suction I've only used this vacuum a few times, it's practically brand new. Now, one I turn it on, it sounds fine, and the hose feels as if it's getting some suction, but it's not strong enough to actually **** things up from the carpet into the canister. I have completely emptied the canister and bought a new filter. Nothing seems to help.

Sebo upright barged hoover- good suction using hose, brush wont turn, sounds fine when running, nasty wineing noise when stopping?? help!! i love my hoover, have checked for bolckages....

My dc14 animal works fine in Vaccuum mode but when I switch to the extendable tool the sound of the vaccuum changes to a higher pitch noise and I get very little suction through the hose. Any suggestion

Your hose has a restriction. To fix this, use a broom handle and insert it into the hose as far as it will go. If the hose can be removed, take it off completely and do this, if not be careful so as to not damage the sweeper with the handle. anoth ... Dyson DC14 Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

I have a dyson dc21. All the sudden the hose is hardly suctioning up anything. If I take the canaster off, the top air hole suctions extrememly well, but when I place that canister back on, the suction is not going thru the hose and picking anything up. I have squeezed the hose, I feel no air leaking and do not feel any blockages...what could be wrong. It worked fine the other day and today, it won't pick up a piece of lint!

I have a Rainbow E2 series, 23, for about 3 years. It has now a different and very aloud sound coming fron around the motor and also I feel it is not suctioning with the same power. If I close the hose like closing totally the suction entrance, the sound comes normally. I will appreciate if some one can tell me what to do, becouse there is not a Dealer in my Contry any more. Thank You. Pierre Chabaneix - Lima-Peru [email protected]

Hi there, Pierre!\015\012Sorry, but I think this is bad news. From your description, I suspect that a motor bearing has failed. The only way to fix it is to replace the motor, and without a dealer in your country, that could be a big problem.\015\012 ... Rainbow E series Canister Wet/Dry Vacuum

It has no suction. It was fine yesterday. I washed the dirt container and the filter, let it dry and put it back in the vacuum. Today my vacuum isnt picking up any dirt and has no suction. When I took the hose out of the back, it started blowing dust and dirt out but still no suction.

My Dyson Animal has good suction and works fine for actually picking up dirt, but when I use the vacuum with the roller, I hear a grinding/rumbling noise. Its only when I use the vacuum with the brush rotating. It does not happen hen I shut the roller brush off. The belt is fine. I cannot figure out what is wrong as there are no clogs, debris, or foreign objects stuck in the brush or in the belt. The noise seems to be the only issue. The vacuum picks up fine. It just doesn't sound right a

I have a u3450 1500w hoover, suction on hose works fine, but carpet suction has never worked, how can i fix this?

I bought a Kenmore canister vacuum, model 116, in April 2007. This morning, the sound of the motor suddenly began to deepen, and I began to lose suction. Normally, if something is clogging the hose, the motor will wind up to a higher pitch, not a lower one. The filters are clean, the bag is empty, and I can't detect anything lodged in the hose. If this were a car's engine, I would say it's "lugging down". Any pointers?
