How to fix cord jammed on Hoover Windtunnel uh70215?

\015 Hoover vacuum cord is twisted in canister and only half comes out. How do you remove the case that contains the cord? I removed the screws but still am unable to take the plastic cover off. I don't want to force the case off and break the machine. Please provide any further information on how to remove the plastic cover.\015

Hoover UH70120 WindTunnel TSeries problems with the cord. im a tech savy guy and have been trying to fix a cord after it was pulled to far out and now wont auto retract, but just cant find a way to pull the cord rewind mechanism out to work on it. Any advice

You will probably have to replace the cord winding mechanism. I have never had any luck trying to repair one. Cord retracters are great when they work but it seems like they always go bad before too long. On many units you can't even replace the cord ... Hoover Vacuum My Hoover cannister model s3614 "runabout powermax" suddenly lost power to the agitator roller in the rug brush. Where the wire cord enters the power brush, the covering has rubbed off exposing the wires which are not bare but still have their own covering. For a while the power came and went as I manipulated the wires but finally died. Is this something I can fix myself or is it going to be an expensive professional repair? (Warrantee has elapsed.) Thanks.

I have a Hoover WindTunnel, Self-propelled model, and it was working great until I ran over a portion of the cord, then it started making a bad noise and I noticed the roller is not moving consistently...I suspect I may have stetched the V-Belt...do you think so?

Hoover Windtunnel We bought a new power cord because our's broke. We cannot figure out how to uninstall the old one and reinstall. My husband has removed just about all of the screws.

I have Hoover Widepath Bagless 12 Amp Windtunnel vacuum. Yesterday I was vacuuming and smelled smoke and it shut itself off. Today I cleaned out the filters (they weren't bad) made sure nothing was obstructing the hoses or the spinning brush part. It turned on for 1 second, smells like smoke somewhere from the bottom and now won't turn back on so I don't know if anything is spinning or not. What can I do to fix this myself?
