Scooba not picking up dirt

\015 For the first dozen times that I used my scooba my filter had dirt in it (as it should) but now it remains clean and the scooba leaves the dirt behind on the floor. Can anyone suggest a solution? Any help gratefully accepted. Thanks!\015

Answers :

I have had the same problem for six months and finally found the solution.
\015\012
\015\012The problem is that the air duct into the dirty water tank was blocked.\015\012The air flows up the black removeable hose, into the dirty water tank\015\012and out through the filter. With the air duct into the dirty water tank\015\012blocked, no dirt gets anywhere near the filter.
\015\012
\015\012The black removeable hose is the hose in the base of Scooba that the\015\012instructions tell the user to clean after each use. Despite cleaning\015\012this hose after each use, plenty of cat hair and other dirt passed by\015\012the hose and got lodged above it on the tank side of the incoming air\015\012duct.
\015\012
\015\012The air duct into the dirty water tank is formed out of the blue\015\012plastic the tank is made from. You can find it by looking to see where\015\012the black removeable hose lines up with the tank when it is placed on\015\012Scooba. It is the same diameter is a the removeable black hose so you\015\012can't miss it.
\015\012
\015\012Getting the gunk out is tricky because there is a bend in the duct. I\015\012fished most of it out with my fingers and then poked a bendable plastic\015\012spoon handle to get further down the duct. I then flushed water down it\015\012and shook the tank to get more out. After cleaning, water dripped into\015\012the air vent would come out the dirty water tank drain hole with little\015\012resistance.
\015\012
\015\012After cleaning the air intake duct I ran my Scooba and got dirt in the filter for the first time in months.

My Kirby Heritage II vacuum is not picking up dirt up out of the carpet like usual, and I have to keep setting it lower to pick anything up. I finally get it to such a low setting that it starts sucking the carpet up and makes a whirring noise, and starts smelling. Every time this happens, we find the belt has been burned. We are wondering if the brush roll inside with the brushes that pick up dirt are worn out and too short?
