Old or New battery not charging...or so it seems (Discovery 4XXX)
\015 I have a similar problem to others...with old and new battery. Have reset charging. Indicator starts out red but turns green after about 16 hours. (What iRobot suggested. I haven't tried 72 hours yet). After about 24 hours, I turn on power and Nothing. Light goes back to red and takes another 16 hours or so to turn green again. I have tried charging from base and with charger plugged directly into unit. Same thing happens.\015

Shark/cordless /sweeper - over four years old. Started - but seemed like it was caught and shut off almost immediately. Not used year around - tried to start after absence. I have removed some hair and perhaps dental floss. Checked belt - it seems O.K. Do I need a new battery or is it just worn out.

I have a swivel sweeper, the original series, that is about one year old and is losing power. The battery has been replaced but it still seems weaker than it used to be. The brushes do not turn as quickly and the overall pick-up is not as strong as it was when it was new. Any suggestions on how to get the power back up to what it once was?

My Roomba Discovery 4210 seems to be dead. Specifically, with or without a battery, and whether on the charging station or plugged directly into the charging unit, I see no lights on the display whatsoever. This unit has a history of killing batteries, but now seems like it is completely dead. I understand that the batteries themselves contain fuses; is there some way to bypass the battery (for now) to verify whether the unit itself is completely dead? I should also note that this is the sec

My robot will not charge. Tried multiple resets and new battery from irobot.com (both suggested by Irobot customer service) but got nowhere. The vacuum did work for a short time (until the new partially charged battery ran out). If I bypass the internal charging circuits and charge directly from the charger (with jumpers) the robot seems to work fine. Unfortunatey, there is no mechanism to turn off the charge cycle, so this is not practical.

Noise My Dyson DC08 is making a loud, rough, vibration/noise that seems to be coming from the from the rotating brush housing. I replaced the old belt which was several years old and slipping. When I run the motor with the new belt removed the machine sounds normal. The bearings on the rotating brush seem to be running smoothly when turned by hand both when out of the brush holder and when installed in the machine. I can't find anything rubbing on the belt or rotating brush. I applied a bit o

I have a Roomba Discovery. In the past, I had to replace the charging dock. Then the battery died so I did not use it for two years. I finally bought a new battery and used the Roomba. It worked great. It did not find the docking station, and died. I have been charging it and the red light pulsates, but after 16 hours, it still is not charged...any ideas?

I have the IROBOT discovery that just got a new battery. IT ran great! As the battery was dying, I put it into the home base. The "brick" is green, the home base has two green lights and the on/off pulsates red. It never charges though. Eventually the red light stops pulsating. Customer service said to reset it, clean the metal, and nothing works! They told me to just buy another one. The problem is that I know it was working! Help!
The best thing that you can do is take the charger into somewhere that can test it for the proper output voltage. It should be somewhere very close to 22 volts with no fluctuation. The charger is the easiest thing to test in this case. ... iRobot Roomba 4210 Bagless Robotic Vacuum

The hand held dyson does not appear to charge. does the battery come away from the unit as I can't seem to release it? Would there be any point in buying a new battery as I don't know if this is the problem. The red light stays lit all the time it is on charge and when I take it off the machine does not respond at all.
The battery is located at the bottom of the handle. To release it, press and hold down the button on top of the battery case (it has 3 ridges on it). That releases a catch and you can then slide the battery out to the rear. This can be quite ha ... Dyson DC16 Root 6 Bagless Handheld Cyclonic Vacuum
The original belt on my upright Kenmore Progressive broke and I replaced it with the spare that was in the vacuum. The vacuum and spare belt are about 10 years old. Then the spare broke after one vacuuming session and there was a burning smell coming from the vacuum. I ordered new belts and replaced it with the new belt. It seems to be working fine with no smell. I checked the belt after I vacuumed the family room and although it was in tact, the belt was very hot. Is that normal? Should t

Hi On a Hoover convertable model U4497-900 I'm trying to replace the fan. The old fan cracked, then flew apart. I have a dyson animal dc17 vacuum and it totally died. Now I can't figure out which wires go where when I install my new motor. My Vacuum DC-17 has just quit sucking. It has been making quite a racket since I had the belt changed at a repair shop several months ago. I was told that the belt was a new design and figured that was why it was making so much noise. it seemed to work fine, was picking up dirt and all, but today, when I started vacumming, I noticed it was not sucking air either with the belt engaged or not. My vacuum is approx. 5 years old.

Hi The band snapped the other day on my Vax Swift Turbo upright hoover and i got a new band from a Hoover repair centre. (Im assuming the bloke sold me the correct band). Was tight to go on. The hoover is roughly 2 years old and used around 3 times per week. thanks Mike

No Suction My two year old Kenmore Progressive stopped working in January. The guy at the Sears service center convinced me that buying a new one would be cheaper than getting it fixed. So I bought the exact same model and now this one has given out in the exact same way! I'm so confused. When I press on, it lights up and makes the whirring noise. Everything seems to be working but there is no suction anywhere. Not in the main part or the hose and there's no "cyclone effect" in the chamber. All
