The belt on my used Eureka Boss 5857 upright slips off the end of the motor shaft every time the vacuum is used. When I turn the brush roll slowly by hand, the belt walks toward the end of the shaft. It looks like there was a plastic projection from the base that snapped off, and maybe that plastic piece used to block the belt from falling off. Do I need to try to reconstruct that plastic piece, or is something else wrong?

On the side, I have removed the rubber covers over the plastic rails but I can't remove the plastic rails that hold the rubber covers on. If I am right, these rails should just slide right out and the outer casing should come part.....or am I doing something wrong. I have pulled and pulled the rails and they don't budge. The rear end won't pop off. Help!

Spare wire? My SEBO X4 flex had to have the fex shortened because the cable sheathing had come out of the internal gripper and there was a couple of inches of two strand wire hanging out the cable entry point before the insulation sheathing started. No problem doing this but on the live switch terminal there was a piggy back spade connector. The second wire from this went down inside the handle and just ended with a bare terminal hanging in space. It hadn't come off anything, there wasn't anyth

I have a new Euro-Pro shark model S3101. Used it one time and while I was doing my tile floor in my kitchen I reached under a cabnet to clean and hit the floor kick kind of hard and broke the head off of the shark. I have only the T shaped end on the shark now with the cleaning head broken off and looks unrepairable. I did kind of hit the floor kick hard but the plastic broke like glass. Can I put a new head on the remaining piece or is it repairable? thanks Angie

How do you remove the plastic end fitted to the flexible hose

Not necessarily. Some Dyson models have an all inclusive flexi hose which attaches to the handle spine. Check EBay for replacement flexi hoses - UK has many sellers - or handles which have the metal pole and the flexi tube attached. \015\012\015 ... Dyson DC07 Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

Have Electrolux 1590 whole house vac, and can't see how to get brushes out. Leads so short, and don't want to break them trying to free brushes. Do they slide out of plastic housing? My eyes not real good, but it looks like the leads are part of a brass sleeve that slides into the plastic housing. It also looks like the plastic housing may be a snap lock type, but I don't see how to open it.

A cap on one end of the roller brush is centered and turns freely. The one on the other end is not centered and does not turn but does not look broken. It looks like it's supposed to be that way but it doesn't allow the roller brush to turn. How to I solve this?

It's hard to say definitively what the problem is here. Rollers usually have bearings at each end and they can wear or freeze up especially if they are exposed to water. I have a cannister (Animal something...) Today, it didn't sound right - like a blockage. I took out the filter - seemed OK; I looked for a blockage - found none. I continued to vacuum, but it wasn't picking up. Then, I stopped again, and I found a blockage (cat toy mouse) right at the end of the hose (attachment end.) I cleared, and I turned back on - nothing. Completely dead. It is one year old, just about exactly. Desperate, Sharon Tracy

On the piece that covers the brushbar and motor (the clear plastic piece that has the dyson logo), it looks like a small plastic ridge that holds the cap for the brushbar snapped off. Would too much wobbling of the brushbar cause it to turn on and off? The switch seems fine.

In theory, yes. If the brushbar isn't held firmly, then the belt isn't running smoothly which puts more strain on the motor. This can cause the motor to get hot very quickly which will trip the thermal overload protection. \015\012\015\01 ... Dyson DC15 All Floors - The Ball Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

By reversing it, I assume you plugged the hose into the exhaust blower on the top of the machine. If so, insert the other end into the intake and turn one the vacuum. This way the clog is also getting sucked at what should be the loose end.\0 ... Electrolux Epic 6500 Vacuum
