My Roomba Discovery doesn't appear to hold a charge

\015 My Roomba Discovery was packed away for a few months while I was moving. Now it doesn't appear to hold a charge. I dock it (both docking lights come on) and after a while the power light turns green, but as soon as I move it it signals an error and the power light blinks red. Even if I leave it docked, the power light will eventually (after MANY hours)turn green, but after a while will go back to blinking red again, even if I don't touch it. Do I need to replace the battery? How do I do that?\015

Cor2an,
That sounds like a classic battery failure in the Roomba discovery series. There are sensors inside the battery pack that go bad too. Either way...it's not very practical to repair the battery....the best shot you have would be to order a replacement battery. You just pop the old one out and then put the new one in.

They are available from iRobot for $69 at this link: http://store.irobot.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2799714&cp=2804606.3358509&ab=CMS_AccSuper_Roomba400_102308&parentPage=family

There are sources of less expensive (about $35) Genuine iRobot quality batteries also. You could try www.RoboticVacParts.com at this link: http://cgi.ebay.com/OEM-iRobot-APS-battery-Roomba-400-4XXX-Discovery_W0QQitemZ270412120603QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item3ef5d1821b&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14.l1262&_trkparms=|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A30

I have a Roomba Discovery. In the past, I had to replace the charging dock. Then the battery died so I did not use it for two years. I finally bought a new battery and used the Roomba. It worked great. It did not find the docking station, and died. I have been charging it and the red light pulsates, but after 16 hours, it still is not charged...any ideas?

My 400 series Discovery Roomba will no longer charge. It shows a green "charged" light, but when I hit clean, all lights/vacuum, etc just go out and it stops. Irobot says that the entire unit needs to be replaced, but it has to have something to do with the charging mechanism. Any Ideas? I've tried the system reset, and removing/replacing the battery. No effect. The robot doesn't give me the "uh-oh" beeps to be charged. It just stops and goes dead.

My Roomba Discovery 4210 seems to be dead.
