Our plug got pulled out (by driving away while the canister was still plugged-in after a vacuuming the car). How can we open up the unit to reattach the wires? We accessed two sets of screws (2pairs) toward the bag-end (not the motor-end) of the canister, but we can't locate any access for the two other apparent screws inside the body.

Remove all visible screws. Top and bottom, then once they are all removed, take a flat-head screwdriver and slowly pry around the canister until it comes completely loose and can be removed.
