We have a Kenmore Progressive Model 116 Upright bagged vacuum with Hepa filter. It's at least a couple years old. For quite some time now when ever we use the vacuum the vacuum motor will shut off nafter about 5 min. of use. We then need to let it sit for awhile and then we can run it again for another 5 min. The bag has been change. Any one have any ideas how to fix this?

I have a Kenmore Progressive Upright Vacuum - Purple, and it worked just fine. I emptied the canister (like always) and put it back in place. I turned on the vacuum to it immediately shutting down (motor) and only the lights come on. There is no movement/noise/suction at all! Any suggestions? I have tried everything. I have no idea why it did this.

Make sure that something didn't fall into the fan assembly in the base when the canister was removed. The motor should have an overload reset switch. Try moving the motor manually (power plug out) to make sure that it isn't bound up. ... Kenmore Progressive Bagless Upright with Inteli-Clean SystemVacuum

My Kenmore progressive vacuum is extremely loud. The airflow and suction seem to be uninhibited, but the noise is loud and frustrating. Should the filters just be cleaned or is this a sign of a different problem? It's a Kenmore Progressive Bagless Upright Vacuum 35912 and we've had it for about four years.
