Having problems with your Kenmore 25512/ 25513 Progressive Canister Vacuum ?

My progressive brush motor only works when I've got it twisted to the right, and then not always. Obviously a bad connection. The female part of the connection at the handle is blackened. Is this something we can repair/replace ourselves, and if so, how? which parts do we need

  • I will give you the easiest way I think you van solve this. What I would do is take the wand down to my local used vacuum store and show them the piece with the black on it. If they agree that it should be replaced...which they will, then you can ask them if they carry the part and most likely they do. Sometimes they will have another wand with a new female end already on it and you may be able to buy one already assembled. Almost all the Kenmore canisters have the same wand set up and they are almost all compatible to one another. To be honest I would try to get one already assembled on to the wand as the part wont be much less than buying the wand off of him already done. If you are set on fixing it yourself you can get the part from him and take it home and do it yourself. Just a word of warning , those plastic connections get brittle over the years so be gentle with it at all times.

There is an "exhaust" pipe of sorts in the lower back part of the vaccuum. Most of the dust and specially pet hair just flies out of there and up in the air. It looks like more stuff comes out than stays in the vaccuum. I'm wondering if there should be something connected to that pipe? HI! i am not sure what the part is called that i need for my DC07. I can point it out on the vacuum. i think it is a hose that connects the bottom part of the vaccuum to the bucket part...i am sorry that i am not more specific.

I was trying to repair my wife's kitchenaid mixer and took part of it apart, including the back part, where the electrical connections are. The original problem was the plastic gear was damaged -- I finally had the good sense to find the solution for that problem on the internet and replaced the damaged part. But now the mixer just won't turn on. I don't think I damaged anything in the electrical section, but I suspect I either blew a fuse or somehow disconnected something.
