We have a Kenmore canister vacuum cleaner 25614504. It has in intermittant light and power flicker in the power mate unit as it is moving over the floor. This behavior can be simulated by jiggling the power cord where it eners the power mate. I do not know how to enter the power mate to see if there is a loose wire.

Hi, I have a Kenmore Whispertone canister vacuum that I purchased in 2007. The model # is 116.22271503C, which seems to confuse the parts people. I need to buy a new powerhead & a few months ago was given a price of $75, but now Sears Canada tells me the part # is 20 116KC5OXBZRZUO1 described as Power Mate Assembly for $192.99. I thought the Power Mate was the small powerhead for stairs, upholstery, etc. Have they located the wrong part for me, or is this really what it costs?? Thanks in advance

Yes, powerheads are quite expensive. That sounds about right.\015\012You can check Ebay for better prices, but check the shipping rates before ordering. ... Kenmore Whispertone 23312 Bagged Canister Vacuum

Have a kenmore canister vacuum cleaner which the power-mate parts don't work. I had loaned the vac out it came back with part of the hose smashed. I don't know if that is the problem.

The hose conducts power to the "power Mate" There are wires running end to end through the hose and handle. If your hose is grey with hard plastic cuffs at both ends, it is repairable, but you will need to locate the Smashed parts. If yo ... Vacuums

I have a Sears Kenmore canister sweeper with the power mate, but it no longer has sufficient suction to pick up dirt. I took the machine apart and cleaned it, but it is still not sucking, does this model need to have the motor oiled?

When cleaning the machine, did you do a good job of cleaning the beater brush and making sure it turned freely in the holders on each end? Perhaps a bit of WD40?\015\012Also, a new set of belts might help a bit. ... Kenmore 22812 Bagged Canister Vacuum

I had the vacuum cleaner question about the canister and the wand/powerhead... the Kenmore Progressive Vacuum canister model 116.25812 and the canister not powering off without unplugging the vacuum. The solution I received that they both run on their own switch so it is normal makes sense. However, is there a power switch on the canister anywhere? The only way for the canister to be turned off is by unplugging it. Any ideas? One would think there would be a switch. I am new to fixya and hope

Hi. On some models, one switch controls all of the power. Your issue, which is no working switch is almost certainly a blown triac on the circuit boar ... Vacuums

I have a Kenmore Progressive model 116.22812204 purchased 2003. The swivel (part nuumber 8195133) that attaches the extension wand to the power mate attachment snapped, so I can't keep the parts connected. I can order a replacement part on-line, but I don't know how to replace it - is it difficult to take apart the power-mate and replace this part? Do you have instructions on how to do it? Thanks!

Hi, I have a canister Kenmore vacuum with power head. Everytime I use it, it smells sour. Its strong and like FEET with bad odor. My old Kenmore did the same thing but I used it anyway...because the power was great. We don't have feet problems or pets. The carpeting was new when we bought this vacuum.

Moisture/humidity mixed with organic dust (like sloughed skin cells) can cause the smell you describe in vacuums. I recommend that you purchase scented granules that are placed inside of the vacuum bag. Do not buy Carpet Fresh because the fine powd ... Kenmore 23612 Progressive PowerMate Bagged Canister Vacuum
