Having problems with your Kenmore 85920 PowerSpin Upright Wet/Dry Vacuum ?

My carpet shampooer has poor floor suction. It sucks very little of the water back up?

Answers :

Check to make sure that any/all intake vents are not blocked by debris. If that's o.k., then you need to replace the belt(s). Once the belts get stretched, they no longer work properly. This is normal and happens as a result of regular usage.

Hoover SteamVac Plus 1200 upright hot water extractor Water/carpet cleaner applying o.k. Suction on the "floor" does not work. Suction on the hand tool works somewhat, but water is not collecting in the bucket. There is suction coming from the floor but water is not going into the bucket. It does not appear to be clogged because I can feel with my hand that air is flowing from the floor. The water is not being sucked into the bucket.

Suction Problem I just borrowed the Hoover Steam Vac Deluxe w/ 5 brush agitator from my neighbor and it worked ok for the first few minutes, although the suction would stop and go. When I had enough water to dump I did it and when I put it back on it no longer sucked the water up from the carpet. She admits to having it for 15 years, but why did it have to break on me. Makes me look as though I did it!

Poor suction...continued Wow, thanks for answering so quickly! To answer your question, yes, there is suction at the screen, but it is very weak. I keep that screen clean. As a side note, I noticed that when I remove the top clear plastic cover (that would be part # 37 on the diagram, as far as I can tell) there is decent suction coming from the intake there--part 36? 30? it's hard to tell. But with the cover on, I feel no suction (from where it sucks up the water directly from the carpet),

Wish I had it in my shop, it is hard to figure your problem. I do know that you must have something out of place and you may have to take it apart to find it. Hello!\015\012\015\012It sound to me like your shampooer is missing the little round suds screen that goes over the hole where the hose plugs in to the tank. Look inside the hose and see if it's in there. Sometimes it gets turned sideways a ... Kirby Heritage II Vacuum

My Dyson DC07 has recently been service and was making a clattering noise and very hard to push. We have taken it back and he has changed the clutch mechanism under the base which has solved the clattering, but it is still really hard to push because of the suction. It is even lifting the carpet in one room. Can you tell me what the possible reasons for this could be? One thought we had was that the little rubber wheels on the bottom cover could have worn so the hoover is closer to the floor

On the sole plate you should have 5 little wheels, these are prone to jamming after a while. You should make sure these are not jammed in anyway.\012\012You can release these with a screwdriver, but be careful not to prize too hard as you ... Dyson DC07 Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

Lost Suction This is my second hoover steamvac and i am having the same problem with my new one as i did with the old one that i tossed out. I have used it about 12 times and it worked great the first 6 times... Now i'll empty a full tank of water and only half will get sucked back up. I have tried taking it apart and cleaning and also the rubber seal had some gaps so i sealed those thinking that it was leaking air from there...can anyone help? I am so close to chucking this one and buying somet

Usually when there is no suction, one cause is the lid to the recovery tank is not on all of the way in the back. Also if you have that foam filter on the underneath side of the recovery tank lid, it needs to have a 1/4 in or so gap from the top of ... Hoover SteamVac Carpet/Upholstery Deep Cleaner Vacuum

My Bissell ProHeat 2x is pouring water out of the bottom anytime it's turned on. I had it in the shop for no water, took it back again for the same problem, took it back again because it had no suction, finally took it apart and found the problem with the suction and fixed it myself. Worked fine for a day and now it is constantly leaking water, if it's turned on, and is useless for anything except for making a mess.

Took the unit apart and discovered my heater had small pinholes in the metal and they had put in silicone, instead of a gasket, which didn't seal. So much for the place I took it to "saving" my heater for me. I repaired it myself by getting a few o ... Bissell 9500 ProHeat 2X CleanShot Upright Deep Cleaner, Red Berends Vacuum
