It starting to put out a hot type smell. I have tried cleaning the filters real well and even tried to see if there was problem with the ozone filter. We have checked and could not find a jam. I know the hose has excellent suction. The vacumn works but the intelliclean sensors will not. It only takes about 15 seconds or so for the odor to start. Then it gets real strong and it makes my eyes water

Hi,

The hot smell could be from the belt or the motor. Turn it on for a moment, turn it off, then flip it on its side and smell the belt that drives the brush. If that is where the smell is coming from, then your belt is burning up.
FirsYou'll have to replace it. Be sure there is nothing rubbing on it like debris picked up and stuck. But, even if you do find something stuck in it, you'll still have to replace it since it's burning.

If the smell comes from the motor, do not run it anymore. That will have to be serviced.

Can you get a belt? I can look up a place online for you if you need to order one. Just provide your make and model.

Have Electrolux 1590 whole house vac, and can't see how to get brushes out. Leads so short, and don't want to break them trying to free brushes. Do they slide out of plastic housing? My eyes not real good, but it looks like the leads are part of a brass sleeve that slides into the plastic housing.
