I have a new Hoover Dual V steam vac that I bought from a neighbor who only used it once. I have only used it once since then and it worked great. This time, because I am pregnant, I bought some non-toxic cleaner that was much thicker than the very watery Hoover soap. This vac has a wash option and a rinse option. The rinse option works (sprays and sucks properly), but the wash cycle doesn't at all-neither soap nor water comes out. Nothing comes out, but it still sucks. I took everything o

My vacuum seems to be just pushing around things instead of sucking them up. I changed the bag and cleaned the bottom, but nothing helped.

Did you check to see if the drive belt for the beater brush was broken or frozen up?\015\012The beater brush hits the carpeting and causes the dirt, etc, to jump into the air so the suction of the unit can pull it into the vacuum.\015\012The beater b ... Oreck XL Ultra Bagged Upright Vacuum

Went to turn it on after not using for several weeks and it states not ready to brew like usual but after about four minutes it just turns off. Wont let us brew a cup or access the menu even to choose size of cup or anything. It sounds like it's sucking up water to make cup and pokes hole in the coffee but nothing more than that. The hose works great, but the head of the vaccuum does not pick up anything !!! I checked every opening that may have been clogged, but nothing came up. When I hold my hand under the brush/roller, it seems to be putting out more air than intaking air. Particles "dance" on the carpet, but don't get "sucked up" into the vaccuum ? I have had the vaccuum only 1 year, so the brushes should not be a problem. I changed the bag, and checked the belt. The belt and brushes seem to be OK. ?

I have a windtunnel 2 vacuum. It sucked up a cord that wrapped around the beater bar. Now the bar won't turn. There was no smoke or sign of something burning. The motor still runs and there is suction but no turning. We have it apart but nothing is obvious. What should I check?

Check the actual beater bar for movement. I have seen the plastic melting, and bearings seized under such circumstances. Also I am unsure by your question, but the motor that creates the vacuum (sucking) is different than the motor that spins your ... Vacuums

The bottom bar that encases the brush is flush to the floor when using the vacuum. This causes the suction to "stick" the vacuum to the floor (lamenate) and also as there is no ground clearance debris is just pushed around. We have to nearly stand the thing upright to get the ground clearance to be enough for things to start being sucked up. I have taken apart, re-assembled etc and nothing is working.

I'm having the same problem.  The bottom plate is not level with the floor unless the vacuum is nearly in the upright position.  Its like there should be a spring pushing the bottom plate towards the floor.  Anyone know how to fix this ... Dyson DC07 Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

No suction vacuum won't pick up -- I've checked the bag, hose...and it seems to have no sucking power. The internal hose may be jammed (I vacuumed up a lot of shredded paper), but nothing as far as I can stick in fingers in. I don't have a metal coat hanger to slip down, but I'm afraid that might tear the hose and then the darn thing won't work anyway. :o(

The power nozzle on my c141b model aerus electrolux canister vaccum no longer turns on. It was working when a large stringy object was sucked in. When hitting the red reset button, nothing happens.
