I have a Kirby G4 Vacuum Cleaner - MOdel G4 D. I have never had any problems or repairs done to it in the past ten plus years that I've had it. This is an upright vacuum. I was vacuuming the carpet floor and was not having any trouble at all. I switched the vacuum off and moved it into a different room. When I tried to turn on the vacuum, it would not turn on. I checked with different outlets, used both front attachment and hose attachment. Checked the front part of the motor/ spiral case. This

Kenmore Progressive canister model 116.27514700 Problem: Vacuum motor won't turn on. The power head operates, but nothing from the vacuum. Have checked all areas of airflow: hose, bag, motor filter and hepa filter. All are fine. Have checked and rechecked all electrical connections, all seem to be in working order. Vacuum hasn't run for a week or so, so it's not the thermal protector, unless it's defective. Vacuum was running fine last week. Didn't stop operating when using. Went to v

Won't start. My son was using the vacuum & Didn't change the bag. The vacuum was making the full bag smell, but the light was't on & it didn't stop. I stopped him, changed the bag, checked the filter, closed the compartments & turned on the vacuum. Nothing happened. I checked to be sure that it was plugged in, that wasn't the problem. I've let the vacuum "rest" for several days, It still won't start. Any suggestions?

There is a reset button at the back of the powerhead. The user manual can be downloaded from the electrolux website, although I didn't find it very useful. There was some info on how to change the powerhead drive belt. ... Electrolux EL7020A Oxygen 3 Ultra Canister Vacuum Cleaner Bagged Vacuum

Hello, I have a problem with my Eureka Powerline bagged upright vacuum. It has a 12 amp motor and is model #4352, Type D. It was probably bought new in 1998. My problem is, while vacuuming today the motor seemed to slow down all of the sudden and then began smelling like burning rubber. I shut the vacuum off to check for blockages but could not find anything blocked. When I then turned it on again it runs but seems to only be running at 1/2 the motor speed and still has the rubber buring smell.

It sounds like a rubber sealing in the motor has come loose and is being constantly rubbed against the walls of the motor with would cause the smell and loss of motor speed caused by the fricton of rubber against the rod so if you can get to the moto ... Vacuums

Dirt devil vacuum cleaner--trouble vacuuming dirt and pet hair on carpeting --is the problem with the spinning brush which contacts the floor,  not contacting the carpeting??  I thought (when I bought this vacuum) that the aforementioned brush was adjustable to various heights of carpeting.  Sometimes, it seems like nothing is being vacuumed up --unless I have just put a new bag on the vacuum... Do I need or can I replace the spinning brush on the bottom of the vacuum so it kicks up and vacuums

I have a Eureka Upright vacuum (4800 Series). When I try to start it by turning the switch on, it wont. For few days, I was able to get around this problem by repeatedly turning the switch on and off until it turned on but that does not work any more. Could it be something related to the switch it self or the power cable. My wife mentioned that one of my kids might have pulled the power cable too hard (at the back of the vacuum). You checked the belt, but I bet it has stretched and won't drive the brush roll under load like it should. Belts only last a few months the stretch and should be replaced. Iff you have suction at the hose, then it has to be down below, either belt/ ... Eureka Whirlwind 4480 Upright Vacuum

The original belt on my upright Kenmore Progressive broke and I replaced it with the spare that was in the vacuum. The vacuum and spare belt are about 10 years old. Then the spare broke after one vacuuming session and there was a burning smell coming from the vacuum. I ordered new belts and replaced it with the new belt. It seems to be working fine with no smell. I checked the belt after I vacuumed the family room and although it was in tact, the belt was very hot. Is that normal? Should t

Dyson animal won't start. Never had any problem with this vacuum. No apparent problem. No electrical problem with house or outlet. If there are some common things I could check/fix, things that might go wrong, I would like to check them out and get this machine going again.

Hi there, if the machine was running and cut out in use, this could be due to the motor overheating. The cause of this would be a blockage or a dirty filter. These checks can be found in the Support section on our website at www.dyson.com. ... Dyson DC07 Animal Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

My Kenmore 35922 works well on floors, but it recently became very difficult to push on carpet. The brush spins and a local vacuum repair guy wouldn't solve my problem since the vacuum worked fine on his very flat, commercial carpet. What can I do to get my easy to push vacuum back?

Hi dalee196,There are three common reasons why vacuum cleaners are getting hard to push.1. Base is dirty - The base needs to be clean from dirt and tar.2. Height is too low - You might want to consider adjusting th ... Vacuums

Hi I’ve got a Panasonic vacuum cleaner MC E468 1600W a few years old now but works well up to recent problem. Not picking up I checked the obvious things and found excessive air being sucked in around the hose housing at the back of the vacuum (as it enters the waste bag) On inspection it appears to me as if there should be some sort of gasket that may have perished and been sucked in, however I can’t identify any such part. Any thoughts on what the problem/solution may be will be appreciate

The hose on the back might be loose - check to see that the hose is not obstructing anything where it screws in at the back - or indeed the screws may be loose themselves; some of the MCE 468 models had an additional ring washer that sits between the ... Panasonic Vacuums

NO POWER My Dyson DCO4 Absolute (purple&lime) won't' switch on. I've checked the plug fuse, wall socket and also filters and hoses on machine all seem fine so think the problem is with the on/off button (maybe loose wire or something) but how do i get to it, is there a special way to remove the green on/off button in order to check the connection? Thankyou in advance for the help i am sure you will be able to provide.

The problem is almost certainly a fatigue break in the flex. These usually happen where the flex enters the handle through the rubber sleeve near the on off switch. You will need to cut about four inches off the wire and reconnect it to the switch. ... Vacuums
