Belt is on roller. Not sure how and how to reattach
When you put the beater bar back in have the belt hook in the normal operating position. Hold the whole beater bar housing upside down and turn the hook. It will grab the belt. Once it does, keep on turning. It will get tough to do, but turn it until you can't go anymore. Then put it all back together!

I replaced the belt on my Dirt Devil Featherlite Bagless Vacuum and the brush roller rubs and makes a very loud noise when turned on. I have gone exactly by the manual instructions and made sure the belt and end caps were on correctly, but the bristles still rub the back and it makes a very loud noise. Without the brush roller in the vacuum, it sounds and runs normal. What could the problem be?

Last night as I was vacuuming, I noticed that the belt stop indicator light was on. I pulled out the hair that had gotten tangled around the brush in hopes of solving the problem. It didn't change things. I then unscrewed the entire bottom piece to take out the brush roller. I removed hair from the end piece of the brush roller and reattached the belt; however, I cannot figure out where the microchip is supposed to go so that I can reassemble the base piece by screwing it back together. It seems

The belt burnt out and it seems as though the red arrown does not release the belt. Like it is backwards from the green arrow. It had a burning smell and the belt broke. Then the second belt started to burn out when the brush roller wasn't spinning. Not sure what might be wrong. Green light will not come on either.
It sounds as if there may be a piece of the broken belt in there. Look carefully with a flash light and remove any remnants you find, using a pair of pliers if you have to.\015\012\015\012Also, remove the entire brush roller assembly and ... Kirby Ultimate G Bagged Upright Vacuum

I have a Hoover Windtunnel Farrington upright model U6431-900 It has worked flawlessly until last week. The roller brush has stopped turning and I believe it is the belt that has broken but I am not sure how to remove the cover to inspect it and replace the belt if that is the problem. Please inform me how to perform the operation and what I should I look for? Is there a site with a diagram on how to replace said parts? Thanks for any and all helpful info that you can supply me with. Larry

The brush is not moving on the vaccume. I'm pretty sure that the belt is busted. I cannot see how to get the shroud off, so that I can get to the roller and belt. It all looks and feels like one piece, even when I start removing screws. It is a bag-less vac. The model number is - v1310rs. Thank you.
I know on my Eureka I had to remove a couple of screws on the bottom and then get a flat blade screwdriver and wedge it on each side of the base kinda next where the end of the roller would be and it snaps up and off. I have an old Progressive vacuum cleaner that says "Hepa Filter" and "Whisper Belt". Not sure what the model # is. The problem is that the vacuum part itself (the part that touches the floor and rolls over) has ejected its filter that we can see through the little window- it just came out under the rollers under the device... we cannot see how to re-insert this piece of filter which looks like a kind of round, flat grey foam/fabric and clearly goes inside- (top of the part that touches the flo

Belt keeps sliding over on the roller bar and rubbing on plastic parts. Belt is a "U" belt and I am told it should be a "R" belt. Sears sold me a "U" so I will try and find the R tomorrow. Belts Burning On our Ultimate G, belts are lasting about 2 uses and they smell and burn off. I am looking at the roller and I can see a slight grove where the belt rides. Is it time for a new roller. I am sick and tired of replacing belts and smelling up the house. Thanks Dusty

The brush roller stops turning and I can smell the belt burning, then it will catch and start working normal. I looked under the plate to check the belts and they looked okay and no hang ups of string or anything. The only thing that seemed weird was that the smaller belt that actually attaches and turns the roller is a bit loose. The larger belt is tight but looks like its the one that is burning and causing the smell.
Better to replace both belts the smaller one is stretched out thats whyits slipping ,be sure to clean the old rubber off the motor shaft before replacing the belts.it will cause the new belts to run unevevly and go bad before their time ...
