\015\012Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. It sounds like you have a Kirby vacuum and there are a few things you may want to try. #1. Change the belt on the vacuum every 4 to 6 months for the best cleaning and the belt also helps you with the movement, and to store the extra belts in a Ziploc bag in the refrigerator. #2. There is an adjustment on the brushroll on each end of the brushroll by turning the screw heads and ½ to 1/3rd turn on each side. #3. if the belt is changed and the brushroll has been adjusted then on the height adjustment, try this… raise the height adjustment to the highest level and then adjust is down one step @ a time until you hear the tone change, that is when the brush hits the carpet and the vacuum head creates a seal. Then try to vacuum the carpet – if you feel like it is doing a good job then you have got it adjusted correctly, if not adjustment one more down and the setting should be complete. If the setting is all the way down on the floor the vacuum cannot do its job properly. Also it a good idea to change the vacuum cleaner bag; and to clean the inside of the cloth bag. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

On/off switch we have two of these vacuums at work, and both of there on/off switches dont work too well. its hard to explain, but when u normally turn it on or off theres a little resistance in the switch and you hear a click, with both of ours the switch moves freely back and forth from on to off, no resisntace, no click, and the machine doesnt stay on, or off for that matter. the switch just moves back and forth.

My Kirby shampooer - G4 - hardly used any water from the tank and no suds at all. Pet hair did blow out of the small slotted holes in the tray as I moved the shampooer back and forth, but the carpet was basically dry. I did vacuum before shampooing, so the brush part seemed to work great during shampooing, but no water! The small screen was stuck in the crook of the hose that attached to the tank so I did get that out and put it on the small hole on the tank, but it didn't make any difference. I

The rubber seal strip inside of the vacuum system on top and on the bottom has started coming off. I was wondering if I could reorder this rubber seal stripping to replace on my system. The model number on my system is #91740. MV 261414/1 is another number that was labeled on the back of machine as well. We ordered it off of QVC and the name of this vacuum system is called, Cook's Essentials's Vacuum Packaging System. Thank you for you time. Look forward to hearing back from you soon.

I have a Hoover Elite Rewind model #uh71009. We moved recently and it was jostled around and the red power switch popped out. I put it back in but it's stuck; it stays either left or right, it doesnt move back and forth. It appears there may be another piece missing from the power switch...all I have is the red switch and a tiny cylindrical metal tube with a spring on one end. This piece fits into the hole on the red switch. Inside the vacuum itself where this goes, there is quite a large cavity

I have an animal dyson. The front nose dives into the carpet when moving the dyson in the forward motion, fine when pulling back. A huge amount of effort is required to move it forward. Took it to a technician and he said he could find nothing wrong. He had only short nap carpet for test. Works fine on short nap, if the carpet nap has any lenght to it like shag, the dyson severly nose dives. It's like the nose is sucked into the carpet. I was vacuuming my room and all of a sudden I hear this loud noise, then notice the roller brush isn't spinning. Thinking too much hair was caught I separated it from the rod and hose to clean it out, but noticed that the roller brush didn't move at all while I was cleaning it. I've cleaned the brush before and it would roll around with little effort, but this time I couldn't move it at all. After removing hair and string I put the vacuum back together and started it up, but the noise continued,

Miele vacuum Sometimes when I hit the auto roll up cord button or even move the cord, the power vacuum goes off. I move the cord again and it comes back on. I took it apart and looked at the connection from the cord to the auto roller. These are the electrical slip on type connections and are still in good shape. There are no bends in the cord. I air dusted everthing inside, put it together (with no extra parts!). Good news..it powered up so I did not break it, but it still has the same problem.

I purchased a Eureka C4910 last year and have a question that I am hoping you can answer. There are two motor actions with this vacuum, 1) the vacuum suction, and 2) the beater bar. The action of the beater bar is that motor is supposed to automatically shut off when the handle is in the complete vertical position assuming the vacuum is stationary, but then turn on when the handle is tilted toward the floor, assuming the vacuum is moving back and forth. My vacuum just stopped working, so I don't know what the problem is. I used it in the kitchen to vacuum the hard wood floor. I turned it off, and a few minutes later, turned it back on to finish vaccuuming the kitchen floor. It just would not turn on. I had not unplugged it or did anything to it. I then tried to see if it would work in another plug, and no luck. I'm trying to figure out if it can be fixed or if I need to look for a new vacuum.

When i am vacuuming my carpet....it sucks the dirt up when i am pushing it forward, but when i pull it back, the dirt comes back out on the carpet

This is due to a loss of suction. The roller brush sweeps the dirt to the hose area, but with no suction, when you pull the vacuum back, the brush just kicks the dirt back out. This is most likely due to a clog in part of the hose system.\015 ... Vacuums
