Having problems with your Kirby G5 Bagged Upright Vacuum ?

G5 intermittently or not at all pulling up dirt

\015 The Kirby is suddenly not cleaning the carpet, this is what I know:\015\012The hose is not plugged\015\012it has a new bag in it\015\012The bar is rotating, but the sound changes when it is low enough to hit the carpet...almost like the pressure is making it stop, or maybe it's just that I don't hear the SUCKING sound\015\012The little green light on the head goes off when I roll over the carpet but goes back on when I lift the vacuum, or run it partially off the edge of the carpet (OK I never noticed this light before so am not sure what its function is) Whatever, the sound is not the normal Kirby sound.\015\012Nearest authorized repair place is 30 minutes from me...\015\012I have pets and am VERY sad my rugs are covered in animal hair..\015

I have a Hoover U5111-900 that, every time I attempt to use it, shoots everything it should be sucking up, back out toward my feet. I have replaced the bag, pulled out lots of animal hair and such from the area behind the bag, and taken off all parts able to be removed without a screwdriver and pulled out all chunks of hair, dirt, etc. It still keeps shooting everything it should **** up out the back. Is there something I can remove to get the clog out if that's the problem? I'm scared I wil

Hello- my motor filter is becoming clogged every time i use it. i have removed and washed it--I thought maybe i didn't have the lid closed tight enough but for some reason dirt is pouring into the filter, it seems that some of the dirt suctioned is actually being pulled into the filter intead of the canister

One way or another, dirty air is by-passing the cyclone. My best guess is that when you emptied the clear bin, a seal has dropped out (or become displaced) and the base of the clear bin is no longer sealing properly against the bottom of the cy ... Dyson DC17 Animal Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

Bosch canister vac BSG81313. Took cover off to remove lots of hair, dirt etc from running without bag in place. Everything went back together OK, but cord reel spring went zip when cover was removed. How do I rewind the spring so there is tension when the cord is pulled out ? Wound cord back onto reel, but reel just clicks ever revolution etc...no tension when cord is pulled out of vac. Bob

The spring inside the hub of the cord wheel has escaped from the locking tab. You must completely dismantle the vacuum to access the cord wheel - take it out, reattach the spring and reassemble the unit. All you need is a phillips screwdriver, a pai ... Vacuums

When i am vacuuming my carpet....it sucks the dirt up when i am pushing it forward, but when i pull it back, the dirt comes back out on the carpet

This is due to a loss of suction. The roller brush sweeps the dirt to the hose area, but with no suction, when you pull the vacuum back, the brush just kicks the dirt back out. This is most likely due to a clog in part of the hose system.\015 ... Vacuums

Hoover Savvy The red light for the dirt finder is on when pushing forward and the green light is on when pulling it back. This happens all the time. It's like the dirt finder sensor isn't working right. It seems to be picking up good and we keep the filter clean.

No suction I have the central vac type. It has no suction at the can. I pulled the hose going to the walls and tested there...and nothing. I removed the dirt can and checked the motor ...it is spinning but does not feel like any suction. I checked the exhaust and it is pushing strong air out. I also cleaned the filter and still nothing. Is there a relay or something that would cause only exhaust air. I emptied the can of dirt and put it back together and have absolutely no air.....hear the motor

On some units there is a screen that protects the impeller of the motor. If this gets sealed off with debris then it is like putting a potato in the tail pipe of a car. Taking the top off the unit reveals the motor. DO UN-PLUG the unit first from th ... Electrolux Central Vacuum

Hi, I have a Dirt Devil Model # M08100REDC. I desperately need to change the bag, but I don't see an obvious way to do it. I'm afraid to try pulling on the cloth tab thingy that's just below the handle, between the rubber ring that holds the bag on the vac, because it seems like stuff will fly everywhere from the force required to remove it, and I might not be able to get it back on there. Should I just pull on that cloth tab until the bag comes off? Thanks, Roberta

You can pull on the tab to remove the bag, but probably a better way is to gently pull on the rubber ring that attaches the bag to the back of the vacuum body. My Bissell Pro Heat Select 2X does not pull up the dirt from the carpet into the water. The water just slowly disappears. The first time I used it the water got really dirty. Poor Suction Heya! So I just picked up a used Dyson, but when I vacuum with it, the suction is pretty weak and it spits all kinds of stuff out the back and into my feet. When I pull the hose I have good suction, but in regular mode it hardly picks up anything. The brushes are spinning, and it eventually will clean an area if I go over it again and again. Maybe a clog somewhere? Please tell me that Dysons have better suction than my $50 Dirt Devil! Thanks!
