Having problems with your Kirby Heritage II Vacuum ?
Replace belt I am trying to replace a heritage ii belt
Take the head off the vacuum, look at back. You will see two metal latches, the latches hold the bottom of the head on. If the latches are stiff, you can use a small hammer to tap the in the right direction, don't go crazy. The bottom will swing away towards the front. The beater bar can then be pulled out and a new belt slipped on. Replace the beater bar, be sure to get the black ring at one end installed so it is line with the little light that tells you the bar is turning. Replace the metal bottom, if you have trouble getting it to seat check that you have the front side seated properly over the 'bumps' on the front of the head. Lock the clips back in. Turn the finger to catch & pick up the belt so you may place it back on the vacuum.

I have an old Hoover vacuum model # U5035-930. The belt broke and I tried replacing the belt myself. I couldn't stretch the belt to attach it to the motor pully. It was belt # 38525-027 M6. Which I got from the previous owner. I took it to a vacuum repair place and he replaced it with belt # 38528-027 J4. I cannot find this belt anywhere.

I have vax 1800 pet vacuum. It is picking up fine but very noisy. I have replaced the belt in the past and the noise started then. On looking at it closely today I noticed brushbar was getting worn where it slots in at the side so I suspect it wasn't fitted in properly after replacing the belt. Now in properly but still making terrible noise. There is a bit of a rubbing noise when brushbar moved round. Do you think the brushbar needs replaced? How do I lubricate the bearings to try that bef

Bissell 6595 problems with roller brush. I've had this happen with two of the same model. Each one didn't last more than seven months! First, it became loud when vacuuming, then there was a burning smell. When you try to replace the belt, you see that won't do any good because the fitted end of the brush is melted. The housing part the roller brush fits into is melted too. There's no place for the roller brush to fit into. I tried to upload pics, because I don't see how replacing the roller brus

We are trying to replace the belt on the bissell 89q9 model. We purchased belt 8 and got in onto the brush however the brush doesn't spin anymore. Even trying to turn it by hand doesn't work. One end of the brush has a round end to slide in (clear end piece); however the other has a rectangular end to slide in (black end) so we don't even know how it ever turned. Any suggestions?

I have a Eureka 4870GZ. It turns on, but the brush roller doesn't move. The belt looks fine. I do have an extra belt and would try replacing the old belt, but I can't get the old one off the motor shaft or the new one on. I called Eureka customer service. The lady said there's supposed to be a small space between the motor shaft and the outside edge of the vacuum where I can slip the old belt off and the new one on. I don't see it. It looks like the motor shaft goes into a recessed place in the

Have a Centralux Aerus about 5 years old. Don't see a model number. There is suction but beater brush quit working. Was using for a few minutes, shut it off for a few minutes, turned it back on and suction only. Tried the reset button also. Tried the sidekick attachment and it works fine. There was no smell like something was hot. Belt is fine. Are there any fuses or anything else to try? On our Hoover U6445-900 (Mach 6.9) we replaced the small belt that goes to beater brushes in front of unit. Upon starting, the Hoover quickly got hot and smoky. We shut it off and looked things over carefully, but the second try also resulted in friction heat on the belt. Now it appears the belt may have stretched due to heat and the brushes won't spin. Any ideas?

I have a Miele S1721 Powerhouse upright vacuum. When the belt broke I took it into the shop (because when i tried to replace the belt, the tension was so tight I couldn't get it back together!!). I have a Kirby Heritage II which normally works amazingly well, but it's not playing at all nicely today - and of course we have apartment inspections tomorrow. *dies* The belt broke today (as did the replacement belt, which I'd bought at the same time, so apparently the rubber was old), so I went over to Stark's to get some new ones - but it still won't cooperate. It is not clear how to access the front spool on a Eureka 'Boss - smartvac' 4870K vacuum cleaner, when replacing the belt. Trying to force the flimsy black plastic lever attached to the shiny silver spool where the front end of the belt appears as if it should go, would cause breakage.
