Where does the fan belt go? - Kirby Heritage II Vacuum

Answers :

Hi There,
\015\012The belt on your Kirby Hertiage is put on almost exactly like the video below. The only difference on your model is that the brush actually rests in the bottom plate itself rather then the bell housing like the generation.
\015\012You can follow the same step by step instructions as the Generation in the video below, just put the belt around the brush, and put the brush into the bottom plate. Then put the bottom plate with the brush inserted, and the belt wrapped around the brush loose in the middle, back into the fan housing. Then turn the square shaped belt pulley on the font of the bell housing to the red setting. After the belt has been turned to OFF, then you may put the front bell housing back onto the vacuum cleaner, and after securing it onto the vacuum, now turn the belt pulley in the front back to BELT ON position.
\015\012The video will help you tremendously understand where and how the belt works on your Kirby. Here it is:

My Kirby Heritage II vacuum is not picking up dirt up out of the carpet like usual, and I have to keep setting it lower to pick anything up. I finally get it to such a low setting that it starts sucking the carpet up and makes a whirring noise, and starts smelling. Every time this happens, we find the belt has been burned. We are wondering if the brush roll inside with the brushes that pick up dirt are worn out and too short?
