Having problems with your Kirby Ultimate G Bagged Upright Vacuum ?

I just bought a new belt for my vacuum and have a brand new bag in and it isn't sucking anything up.

Answers :

1 - make sure that the belt is installed properly and brush roll is spinning as you are vacuuming.
2 - it is not unusual to have a clog in the miniemptor / fill tube assembly - black plastic shoe-like bag bottom part with tube (you can see it HERE)
3 - Sometimes something gets caught in in the exhhaust - part of the main body where you install the bag. Take coat hanger and run through it. Once I have pulled a sock out of there and I could nor see or reach it without the wire...

I have two old identical 5842's that I use in the garage and around the house. The belt broke on one so I bought a bag of 2 genuine Eurika "U" belts, which is the correct belt for this vacuum. They were obviously smaller than the original belt because they were not stretched out. When I put the new belt on it lasted about 20 minutes and then came off. I put it back on and ran the vacuum with the cover off to see what was wrong. Everything looked fine except the belt rides to the outside edge of

Unbeknownst to me, someone took the bag out of my Kenmore Progressive vacuum and failed to replace it. I have been vacuuming without a bag for months, and today the vacuum stopped sucking. When I opened up the front to replace the bag, tons of dirt and dust came pouring out. I thoroughly cleaned the vacuum, put in a new bag, but still no sucking power. Just dust coming from the rear vents where one of the filters is. Is the vacuum ruined, or is it a simple solution of buying a new filter?

Sounds like you need to buy a new motor. All that grit and dust will ruin a motor and I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did.\015\012This is where a vacuum that won't run without a bag would have been nice. (Aerus for one) ... Kenmore 31913 Progressive Direct Drive Bagged Upright Vacuum

Hello, I have a problem with my Eureka Powerline bagged upright vacuum. It has a 12 amp motor and is model #4352, Type D. It was probably bought new in 1998. My problem is, while vacuuming today the motor seemed to slow down all of the sudden and then began smelling like burning rubber. I shut the vacuum off to check for blockages but could not find anything blocked. When I then turned it on again it runs but seems to only be running at 1/2 the motor speed and still has the rubber buring smell.

It sounds like a rubber sealing in the motor has come loose and is being constantly rubbed against the walls of the motor with would cause the smell and loss of motor speed caused by the fricton of rubber against the rod so if you can get to the moto ... Vacuums

Not sucking i have a KIRBY G3 that was working great. One day there was a strong smell and the brush roller belt broke so I replaced it. The fan looks good. Now the vacuum does not **** up dirt but instead seems to very gently blow air forward. I took the (new) bag off and it is blowing hard int the bag. I am stumped!

I have 2 Hoover Wind Tunnel-self propelled bagged vacuums-U6433-900 model. The roller bar does not agitate, the self propelled feature does not work and, in general, the vacuum is not performing well. I have replaced the roller bar, the v belt and the wide belt. The filters have been replaced and it has a new bag. I have had both of these since 2004 and they were fairly expensive $200 each) but if the repairs are prohibitive, I might as well get new vacuums. Suggestions? I just spent $100 for bel

I have bought new Hoover bags on two occasions. The first spares I bought were the Xxxl variety and I didn't think they fitted that well. The next spares I bought were the type g megafilt. I just bought a Hoover Power Drive Concept Two Electronic vacuum from the thrift shop. It only needed two belts and seems powerful. But i don't understand what the small red button on the handle marked "Release Drive" means. Thanks for any insight! Anything else i need to know about this machine? Is it a good one? Are there high-performance bags available for it?

My Vacuum DC-17 has just quit sucking. It has been making quite a racket since I had the belt changed at a repair shop several months ago. I was told that the belt was a new design and figured that was why it was making so much noise. it seemed to work fine, was picking up dirt and all, but today, when I started vacumming, I noticed it was not sucking air either with the belt engaged or not. My vacuum is approx. 5 years old.

I have a Eureka 4800 series the Boss upright with a bag and Hepa filter. I love it! I was just vacuuming with the hose part and all was well and then suddenly the lower brush came on and a "burning" smell followed. Thought it was the belt so my husband was going to put on the new belt which I had on hand! When he turned it over, the "bar" that holds the belt looks as though it "shot through" the plastic side of the housing on the vacuum. There is melted plastic on the outside of the vacuum and o

I have a Kirby G4. I have noticed the last few days when trying to vacuum that it is blowing more than it is sucking up. I put on a new bag to make sure it wasn't too full. I also put on the hose and noticed it's not sucking as well as normal. I unzipped the back of the bag holder and noticed the bag isn't inflating as it should be as well. I appreciate any advice. Thank you.

I purchased a brand new Eureka Pet vacuum, sorry don't know exact name but it the one that has the self cleaning duster on it. Last night I used the vacuum on my carpet, it was working fine until I accidently sucked up the corner of a scarf that was hanging off a couch. I shut the vacuum off, pulled out the scarf and and resumed vacuuming. Much to my dismay the suction on the vacuum had ceased. Can you tell me if there is a reset button on the vacuum? Dirt devil vacuum cleaner--trouble vacuuming dirt and pet hair on carpeting --is the problem with the spinning brush which contacts the floor,  not contacting the carpeting??  I thought (when I bought this vacuum) that the aforementioned brush was adjustable to various heights of carpeting.  Sometimes, it seems like nothing is being vacuumed up --unless I have just put a new bag on the vacuum... Oreck XL21 just will not work at all any more. Beater is clean - belt is fine. Fresh bag - inflates. Took the thing apart - checked for blockages at intake, bag entry, and the tube.
