Having problems with your Kirby Ultimate G Bagged Upright Vacuum ?

Electrical My Kirby Ultimate G won't turn on when it is supposed to, sometimes it will and sometimes it won't ...also I see greenish blue sparks in the machine where the handle attaches to the motor when it is on. As a side note, the shampoo attachment won't make suds anymore.

\015\012PROBLEM: THE KIRBY WILL NOT TURN ON AT ALL
\015\012POSSIBLE CAUSES:
\015\012
\015\012
\015\012Please note......The Kirby has TWO safety switches that need to be engaged before it will operate. One is on the fan case in the front. It is activated by having an attachment attached to the front. (hose, power nozzle, etc.) \015\012The other switch is on the side of the Kirby where the cloth bag attaches and is engaged by the little tab that sticks out from the side of the hard plastic cloth bag "boot". The bag boot MUST be completely engaged to activate the safety switch and allow the Kirby to power on. If you are having trouble getting the bag to properly engage, (sometimes they are STUBBORN) simply lubricate the black gasket that the boot fits onto with gasket lubricator, VASELINE, or try a tiny drop of DISHWASHING DETERGENT or HAND CREAM. It doesn't take much, so use the smallest amount possible to get the desired effect. You should hear a slight "pop" when the bag completely engages.
\015\012If neither of these things are indicated, it is probably again, either the power cord, switch or the carbon brushes.
\015\012
\015\012If your Kirby is sparking there are a few causes...
\015\012
\015\012PROBABLE CAUSE (MOTOR): Worn out carbon brushes, bad armature or perhaps BOTH
\015\012PROBABLE CAUSE (CORD): The cord has a short in it. Replace the power cord
\015\012PROBABLE CAUSE (POWER NOZZLE): There is something metallic stuck in the fan or power nozzle
\015\012
\015\012I think you have a problem with the carbon brushes and amature because of where you describe seeing the sparks. I would suggest taking it to an authorized dealer for repair if it is the motor that is going bad.

Shampoo-er This seems to be a common problem, the shampooer is putting out alot of water and hardly any suds. I read through the posts about the little filter that sometimes gets out of place and I think I found it in the box - is it about 1" diameter hard plastic ring around very fine mesh? If so where exactly does it go? Some posts say in the hose, and others say in the opening of the tank. Or does it go in the place where the hose attaches to the tray? I also found a round sponge in the box o

It goes on the small hole on the tank where the hose attaches to it. The sponge goes in the hole directly under the on/off valve. Here is a link to my online shampooer instructions.\015\012 \015\012 ... Kirby Ultimate G Bagged Upright Vacuum

My Kirby shampooer - G4 - hardly used any water from the tank and no suds at all. Pet hair did blow out of the small slotted holes in the tray as I moved the shampooer back and forth, but the carpet was basically dry. I did vacuum before shampooing, so the brush part seemed to work great during shampooing, but no water! The small screen was stuck in the crook of the hose that attached to the tank so I did get that out and put it on the small hole on the tank, but it didn't make any difference. I

I have a Eureka 5902AVZ and the brushroll does not work. when i remove the belt, which is not torn nor worn out, the motor spins perfectly fine. Though when i put the brushroll back into place, it shows that the motor is trying to spin, but with resistance. it seems the brushroll will not spin if locked into place, because there is no attachment on the left side of the brushroll that will allow it to spin freely with the belt. am I missing some parts or is there something else wrong?

Hi and welcome to Fixya. I am Kelly. \015\012\015\012You have correctly identified the problem as the brush roll itself. \015\012\015\012There is a bearing under each end cap of the brush roll. You can gain access to the ... Eureka 5902AVZ Bagless Upright Vacuum

You could always try unplugging the unit and plugging it back in. If that doesn't work the logic board is probably fried and unfortunately there is no replacement available for it any longer. You would need to buy a new opener. I'd recommend Liftm ... Vacuums
