When we put the head on the belt will not work

\015 I took the head off to use the att. and when i tried to put it back on the belt will not work\015

Check to make sure the belt has been "scooped up" by the hook in the head. When you turn the knob on the head to remove it, it's supposed to "scoop" up the belt and pull it away from the shaft. If you don't have the belt on the hook when you place the head back on that means the belt isn't going around the shaft. You can just use your fingers to place it in position so the hook will grab it and then place it back on the body, rotate the know and it should be in contact with the shaft. The only other problem could be that the belt is broken and needs to be replaced.

The hose works great, but the head of the vaccuum does not pick up anything !!! I checked every opening that may have been clogged, but nothing came up. When I hold my hand under the brush/roller, it seems to be putting out more air than intaking air. Particles "dance" on the carpet, but don't get "sucked up" into the vaccuum ? I have had the vaccuum only 1 year, so the brushes should not be a problem. I changed the bag, and checked the belt. The belt and brushes seem to be OK. ?

I have a Kirby Heritage II which normally works amazingly well, but it's not playing at all nicely today - and of course we have apartment inspections tomorrow. *dies* The belt broke today (as did the replacement belt, which I'd bought at the same time, so apparently the rubber was old), so I went over to Stark's to get some new ones - but it still won't cooperate. I've taken the head apart and put it back together several times, to be sure that everything is properly seated, but it's just not

The motor on my Epic 6500 works, the hose is sucking, but the power head isn;t working... I tried the sidestep power head and that one works. Ive opened and replaced the belt and that is fine. The bulb was already burned out and wasn't replaced so I cant tell if theres power to the head. What else could it be?

My Bissell Model 3760-4 is not working properly. The belt has been replaced (and checked 3 times), but the brush bar does not move when the brush motor button is on. The little metal turning piece that turns the belt is turnable with one's finger when the belt is off, but when we put it all back together and turn on the vacuum, the brush bar does not go around and the burning belt smell returns. The portable part of the machine works properly. It's the brush bar. It has been cleared of hair, etc

We have a Hoover upright vacuum cleaner, model Core 7. There is a switch that turns on and off the brush drive. This operates via a cam with a bearing putting pressure on the final drive belt to engage the brush head. My brush head is not turning and with the lever set to engage the drive there is still considerable slack in the final drive belt. There appears to be only a bearing deflecting the belt, should there be a pully or other device mounted on this bearing? There is so much slack a

Yes, there should have been a white plastic sprocket on top of the bearing - in its channel the belt would sit. Unfortunately no parts are available for this unit that can be bought retail - only available by order to dealer repair shops.\012\012\012 ... Hoover Vacuums

The brush wouldn't work when the selector switch was in carpet mode. Took the power head apart and removed the motor. Everything o.k. in the power head. Checked and found that the neutural wire had pulled out of the connector, the connector was never crimped at the factory. What a day! Took 2 hours and a large pizza to get it done. Neutral wire was in the hose just below the handle. Reconnected the wire and crimped it, put everything back together. It works!!!!

Hoover bagless cannister 3765 - belt on power head slips off spindle. bought new belts - same problem. is this a design problem or can it be fixed? I don't want to take it to a repair shop 100 miles away and have them just put on a new belt. saw idea of smaller belt - what number? couldn't find suggested royal 104425001 belt.

I would not recommend a smaller belt. You will only wear the motor. This model series power nozzle needs to have a metal clip installed near the belt on the brush roller housing. I put it on floor for my hardwood floors and picked up loose clean cat litter and went to put it back on carpet and it made a horrible noise like it was rubbing. cleaned the filter... cleaned the roller thingi ...checked the belt and it is still making that horrible noise. It does not make the noise when I have it on floor but as soon as I put it on carpet it screams at me. Help! Please and thanks Linda

I have the eureka boss 4495 widetrack and the end piece of the beater bar broke off. I guess I put it back together wrong when I put a new belt on. Where can I get a replacement part and will it work do you think.

I have a DC 17. In the middle of vacuuming the vacuum stopped working when it was in the upright position. It only works when the head is down and i am using the bar. I can not use the extension bar, becasue when I put the vacuum upright it shuts off. Where is the problem?

My machine (Hoover Wind Tunnel - bagless) is only 1 yr. old. The agitator brush doesn't turn all the time. I know it's not supposed to turn when in the upright position. However, it only seems to work when I have the setting on high. When I stop, but have not put the machine in the upright position, it stops again and then slowly starts moving. Could the V-belt be worn out already? In the owner's manual it states that this belt is not normally replaced. The exact same thing happened with my old

Sounds like you should do two things:\015\0121- Remove and clean the beater brush of all debris as best you can. I have a Eureka 5902AVZ and the brushroll does not work. when i remove the belt, which is not torn nor worn out, the motor spins perfectly fine. Though when i put the brushroll back into place, it shows that the motor is trying to spin, but with resistance. it seems the brushroll will not spin if locked into place, because there is no attachment on the left side of the brushroll that will allow it to spin freely with the belt. am I missing some parts or is there something else wrong?

Hi and welcome to Fixya. I am Kelly. \015\012\015\012You have correctly identified the problem as the brush roll itself. \015\012\015\012There is a bearing under each end cap of the brush roll. You can gain access to the ... Eureka 5902AVZ Bagless Upright Vacuum
