There is a suction hose in the back on the bottom of the vacuum that connects behind the beater brushes which pick up the dirt from the floor which needs to be checked.
\015\012Press the foot release to unlock the vacuum from the upright position and turn it over. Lay it down on the floot in this flat position with the beater brushes facing upwards in plain view.
\015\012Pull out all the hair, strings and other debris that are wrapped around the brushes which turn and pick up the dirt from the carpet. Get a pair of scissors if necessary to get everything off of the bar. When the brushes are clean look behind them from the front and see if you can see the tube that is connecting behind the brushes. Can you see debris stuck in this tube? If you can reach it and see debirs there pull it all out to unclog the tube.
\015\012If you can't clear or see the debris from this position you may have to disconnect the tube entering behind the brushes and manually pull out anything thats reachable. When its empty reconnect the tube and bring the cleaner to the upright position on the floor.
\015\012Empty the dirt collector (whether it be a disposaible bag/filter or a hard plastic cup does not matter) and make sure the vacuum is empty. Disconnect your accessory tube and unwind it. Turn the vacuum on and put your hand over the suction tube for few seconds and then remove it. Keep doing this in a fan like motion to create suction and release it to get everything in the accessory tube to be sucked into the dirt collector. The reason you are seeing dirt come out from under the vaccum is because there is either a clog in the tubes or the bags are being left way over full and no more dirt can be collected.
\015\012dirt will come out the bottom of your vacuum when the tube has disconnected, or it has not been pushed in all the way and its leaking out the sides. check to make sure the tube going behind the brush area in the back does not have any leaks. Use duct tape to seal any leaks if necessary.
\015\012There are two things that can over heat and ruin a vacuum cleaner. One is failing the clean the beater brushes before usage and the other is not emptying the bag or cup when its full.
\015\012Hair and strings get caught in the brushes and restrict it from turning. This causes the machine to work harder than necessary and eventually over heat. People who are unaware of the strings and hair preventing the brush to move freely will notice that the unit does not have as much suction as before and thats about the time they begin to lower and lower it closer to the carpet thinking that "lower" means more suction. The truth is that lower is not more suction at all.
\015\012when you leave your vacuum full of dirt it will also cause over heating and eventually ruin the motor.
\015\012Try and make it a habit to clear the strings from the brushes before using the vaccum and empty the bag when your finished with it before putting it away. This will save the wear and tare on the machine and can help make it last a lifetime.

Most probably the hose is clogged.
