My vacuum hose has split very close to the handle- how do I remove the handle, cut the hose at the split & reattach it to the handle unit - Centralux central vacuum system. Where can I find a diagram of how to remove the handle?

Do Not Cut the hose! It has wiring inside to control the vac and power head. This is a swivel handled hose with both low and high voltage contacts in it. The same wiring which gives the hose its ribbing, is conducting current for two applic ... Electrolux Centralux Vacuum

Have Dyson DC 14. When tilt to vacuum, the handle and coiled hose comes away from the unit. The problem started when the little purple ridged curved part on front of vacuum cleaner right below handle came loose and a spring fell out from somewhere--don't know where. I pushed on the purple ridge part and it snapped back on. Now, can't get it loose again, don't know where the spring goes, and handle still comes loose from vacuum.

I'm not positive whether or not this is the wand handle because there are several versions of the DC14. However the device the locks and unlocks the wand in place is pretty similar between all the versions. The first picture is the wand re ... Dyson DC14 Animal Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

I have an Aerus Guardian canister vacuum with a clogged hose. The tiny stuffed animal toy is lodged right below where the swivel handle meets the hose. Switching the air flow does not dislodge it. I would like to remove the handle from the hose. Any suggestions?

Consider this. If your vacuum is still under warranty, removing the hose will void the warranty on the hose. I strongly recommend calling an authorized dealer/consultant.\012Although it may seem to be fairly simple to remove the handle, there ... Electrolux Guardian Bagged Canister Vacuum

Bissell 35962 Cleanview Bagless Revolution Upright Vacuum hose is clogged with sock where hose meets handle attachment. Attempted to use broom handle to push back through suction opening. Sock is compacted. Any home repair advice?

If you have access to a small sink "snake" used to clear clogs in sinks, you might be able to use it to "snag" the sock and pull it out.\015\012Needs to be a metal sewer snake so that you can tug on it if and when it snags the sock. ... Bissell 35962 Cleanview Bagless Revolution UprightVacuum

I have a central vacuum system. When I disconnect the hose from a wall outlet the central canister does not shut down dispite my turning off the vacuum at the handle of the hose. The only way I can get the system to shut down is to pull the plug at the canister. What gives? Rob

What I'm hearing is the canister(Not the Powerhead) portion of the unit is running all the time unless you unplug it. this problem could be caused by a short in one of your low voltage lines running through the house. To determine that just unplug on ... Vacuums

My dyson slim vacuum doesn't switch from hose to floor mode. I thought the foot lever was broken. I realigned it but it doesn't switch now from floor mode to hose mode. I take out the hose and I can see the white part. I thought it should move as you go from upright to recline position of the handle.

My 8 yr old kenmore vacuum works well - however the hose has worn under the handle where there is a hole (resulting in decreased suction power). I'd like instructions on opening the handle and bypassing the worn piece of tubing rather than replacing it for $129. Some of the handle screws remove easily but the last one doesn't loosen easily.

Hi,Have you tried spraying the stubborn screw with WD40 and let it soaked for a while? Other than these screws holding the handle together, there would no other way of opening it up. Hope this be of initial help/idea. ... Kenmore Vacuums

My Dyson DC20 motorhead vacuum has a blocked hose - how can I unclog this? I think there is a sock caught up by the handle. The hose has electrical wires running through it so I cannot cut the hose.

Usually a plugged hose can be cleared using a broom handle, if you can force the blockage through, if not as previously suggested a coat hanger attached to the broom handle (duck tape will do) straighten out hanger so it can be used like a cork screw ... Suction I too have the same problem as Mr. Chief. I followed your advice and checked all the hose attachments, no clog. Tthe only one hose that the broom handle would not pass through was the plastic hose and there is a curve in that part. I did not want to force the broom in there as this is a new vacuum and is probably under warranty.

If you have a plumbers snake you can use that. But being under warranty, I would take it to Sears for repair. ... Kenmore 25614 / 25615 Progressive Bagged Canister Vacuum

I have an Easy-Flo central vac unit. The handle on the electric hose has a switch on the handle. With the switch on ''O'' in the center, it's off. On the left, is the ''I'' position. The vacuum runs but the power brush doesn't. On the right is the ''II'' position. The switch won't flip that way. It feels stuck. It feels as if there is something underneath of it that won't let it push that direction. I have the switch out of the handle, but I can't seem to get the actual black casing around the

Switches are not usually designed to be dissembled.I would strongly suggest that you dont take the switch apart. you are better off getting a new one. then if you feel like it you can take the old switch apart and if it dosnt work you still hav ... Vacuums

I want to remove the hose from the handle of the vacuum? I already removed the plastic clip. I thought that would free the hose, but it did not. Any ideas?

My handle won't go back up after an extended vacuuming session during which I used the hand/broom/animal hair attachments several times, thus pulling the hose out/putting it back in, starting/ stopping, and suddenly no matter what I do short of forcing it (and even if I try forcing it a bit) I can't raise the handle to put it away.

There is something stuck in the handle of my Miele vacuum. I unscrewed all the screws hoping that I could remove the hard plastic handle from the hose. The handle that switches the vacuum from floor to hose will not go over to floor on dial., will only go about 1/2 of the way past hose setting.
