MiCTA

MiCTA was founded in 1982 as a group of telecommunications directors who gathered regularly for information sharing. In 1988, a special meeting was held to discuss aggregating demand for telecommunication services. This meeting led to MiCTA's first RFP and endorsement in 1989. AT&T offered pricing which saved members, in some cases up to 85% on their long distance charges. MiCTA continued to find opportunities to aggregate demand and create valuable economies of scale for purchasing technology and related services while improving quality. In 1996, MiCTA Service Corporation was formed specifically to provide administrative and technical assistance to MiCTA.

Today, MiCTA is a national association of more than 19,500 members from Higher Education, Healthcare, Libraries, K-12, Government and other non-profit organizations.

MiCTA's purpose is to identify and resolve common voice, data and video issues and problems; to provide a clearinghouse of information relative to these technologies; to gain information on new products and services; to influence the development of voice, data and video services and to offer these services to members at reduced costs and improved quality. MiCTA also participates in governmental and regulatory proceedings affecting technology issues.

If you represent a non-profit group or consortia and would like to learn more about the most favored pricing and the many other benefits MiCTA members enjoy, please call our corporate office at (888) 870-8677 or visit the MSC website at http://www.mictaservice.com.
