Having problems with your Miele S514 Solaris Turbo Plus Vacuum ?

5 yr. old Miele s514 Turbo plus's power nozzle brush seems to disengage temporarily, stopping the spin. Then it seems to re-seat itself after a few seconds, then starts spinning OK. I keep the nozzle brush very clean, so there is no hair or yucky stuff to cause it to jam. Please help.

I had a White Pearl with same problem. As I moved the hose/wand the brush motor would start stop. Find out where the circuit opens up by holding one part and moving the part that connects to it - 1) where the hose plugs into the cleaner, 2) the swivel connection at the cleaner, or 3) the swivel connection where the wand plugs in. There are brass bands around the hose with brass "fingers" to make electrical contact. Mine had a bunch of gunk, dust, corrosion on the band at the end of hose that plugs into the cleaner. Pulled it apart and now it works like a champ. A bit tricky to get the pieces apart (hidden plastic clips which you don't want to break), but it can be done.
Its probaly between the nozzle and wand, grab nozzle and hold it still and slightly move wand to see if it shorts

I was vacuuming my room and all of a sudden I hear this loud noise, then notice the roller brush isn't spinning. Thinking too much hair was caught I separated it from the rod and hose to clean it out, but noticed that the roller brush didn't move at all while I was cleaning it. I've cleaned the brush before and it would roll around with little effort, but this time I couldn't move it at all. Poor suction The actual sweeper seems to work ok, but the hose attachment has some suction but not enough to pick up things I think it should and not enough to make the power brush spin. I've checked everywhere I can for clogs, but I can't see anything. And there doesn't seem to be any way to check to hose itself for clogs. I've cleaned out the container and the filters, but there's still a problem.

Check the inlet down by the brush roll, make sure it is open, if it is then the hose itself must have a clog. If the hose comes off, drop something like a marble in one end and see it it comes out the other end, if it doesn't then you have a clog. ...
