Having problems with your Miele Vacuums ?

The retractable wire in my S300i vacuum cleaner is tangled. This means I cannot pull the wire out. How do I untangle it? Thanks

Answers :

First remove the bag and the filter, then open the top lid as far back as possible, and then push it a little further. It will make a horrible crunching noise as if it's broken, (which it isn't,) and will then lift free of the body. (If you're afraid to do this you can use a flat-head screwdriver to pry the tabs free by the hinges, but be gentle so you don't snap them.) Remove the screws from the front of the black assembly on the top, (where the on/off switch and power controls are located,) and lift it free. It may also make a horrible snapping sound, but it's ok. Then remove the five or so screws from the main body (in the colored plastic,) and flip the machine upside-down. You can then lift the bottom of the machine free and access the motor and cord reel from there. Reassembly is a reverse of this process, except when putting the main bag chamber lid back on you will need to use a screwdriver to gently hold the tabs out of the way when putting the hinges back on.

The 10 amp thermal fuse on my Panasonic MC-E468 vacuum cleaner has blown. Unfortunately the red ink has worn off exactly where the temperature rating is printed so even with a magnifying glass cannot make out the exact replacement fuse to buy. Can anyone shed any light. I know you can buy the complete thermal fuse and wiring from currys partmaster but with delivery would cost about 20 pounds as opposed to 69 pence for the fuse itself. Thanks Mark Roberts

It appears the fuse is not available separately. Standard retail price for the complete unit is £9.00 including VAT. We can supply at that price plus postage and packing at cost, which would probably be no more than £2.50.  If this i ... Vacuums

I have a Royal 7910 extractor and even though I vacuum before cleaning the carpet, by black cocker spaniel's hair gets pulled into the plastic pick-up attachment and I cannot find an easy way to clean it out. The last time the vacuum cleaner was used the outlet sparked causing it to smoke when turning on vacuum cleaner. I replaced the outlet and plugged it in and things seemed o.k. Today I turned on the vacuum, it stayed on for a mili second and went off. I checked the switch on the vacuum and it showed voltage coming and going, but would not turn on again. I checked all the wires in the area of the switch all seemed o.k. I thought maybe there might be a short in the cord. When I went to plug

I am replacing a foot pedal on an upright Sharp vacuum cleaner-EC-TU2607. I have the broken foot pedal removed from vacuum cleaner proper but it is the removal of the broken pedal from its spring load that has me puzzled. I applied some pulling effort on the pin that holds the spring in place but there doesn't seem to be any give. Is that the correct approach or is there something else that one should be doing first to release some of the resistance by the pin or spring? Thanks!

Folks, My wife and I own a three-year-old Hoover U6434-900 self-propelled "Wind Tunnel" upright vacuum cleaner.
