Having problems with your Oreck DutchTech DTX1300C with Motorized Carpet Brush Bagged Canister Vacuum ?

DT 1300 As I am vacuuming the motor seems to fade in and out and sometimes stops running for a few seconds and then resumes. If I move the hose a bit near the vacuum end, it runs smoothly again. Does this sounds as if there might be a short in the motor? Would this be something I can fix myself or does the vacuum need to go in for repairs.

I replaced the belt on my Dirt Devil Featherlite Bagless Vacuum and the brush roller rubs and makes a very loud noise when turned on. I have gone exactly by the manual instructions and made sure the belt and end caps were on correctly, but the bristles still rub the back and it makes a very loud noise. Without the brush roller in the vacuum, it sounds and runs normal. What could the problem be?

I have two older Filter Queen (brown vacuum cleaners). Besides unclogging the hose area and making sure it is not filled with dirt, what else would cause the machine to run hot and have a high pitched sound? Is there another area where I might have clogs?

I have an older Oreck XL vacuum that sounds like it is running twice as fast as it should. The last time the vacuum cleaner was used the outlet sparked causing it to smoke when turning on vacuum cleaner. I replaced the outlet and plugged it in and things seemed o.k. Today I turned on the vacuum, it stayed on for a mili second and went off. I checked the switch on the vacuum and it showed voltage coming and going, but would not turn on again. I have a VX3000C Broan vacuum and the motor sometimes runs lower and comes back to normal time and time. Plus, now it lamost stops before coming back to normal speed. Can someone explain to me what that might be or if it did happen to someone else? It doesn't stop, but runs at very low speed and come back. It is like if a connection is not made properly. But it does the same at my 3 connections and I did check the one on the vaccuum itselfs.

Which piece it likely to be shorted out? It is about 8 years old.
