I have a Kenmore upright progrssive intell clean. For some reason it isn't sucking when I use it to vacuum. When I use attachments they work fine, but when I plug the hose back in after using the attachments and turn it back on it makes a weird noise and I can feel air blowing out of the back. My Oreck XL upright is blowing out instead of sucking in. I changed the bag and cleaned the brushes; I also cleaned out the main "pipe." I looked for a place to change settings and couldn't find any, so I know I didn't inadvertently switch something. The brushes seem to be spinning at the correct speed. Thank you, Julia Byrem

Not sucking We have an Oreck XL and today it is blowing out dust instead of sucking it up. I just replaced the belt and about 6 months ago, we took it to our Oreck dealer and had it rehauled. I opened it up to check all and it all looked fine. Then I tuned on the machine while unzipped and noticed that the bad does not inflate as it used to. What can I do? Thanks, Connie [email protected]

You probable have a clog in the handle tube, or at the bottom, either by the brush or in the neck where the handle goes into. Unscrew that big black nut and pull the handle off of the bootom asm, then you can check it out and see where the clog is. ... Vacuums

I posted my problem earlier today that I was having with my Bissell Little Green Machine not dispensing solution, but sucked up no problem. Someone said that the most common problem was a blockage. We put hot water in the reservoir for 15 minutes as advised and it still will not dispense. The fluid is now ''dribbling''so it is better. It is just not spraying. We are able to blow from the end and make bubbles in the reservoir which shows us it is not blocked. Any other suggestions?

Okay. I fixed this on mine. Undo the screws on the handle, right by the trigger. You pull the tubes off the little valve. Push on the button and see if you can blow through the valve. If not, push a pin around in the valve (with it pushed into the ... Bissell 1720-1 Little Green Wet/Dry Vacuum

Oreck Upright Hi Redev, I'm not sure what model I have (about 6 years old...upright, looks like the one in the picture). I changed the belt (which was torn) and then the next time I used it, it cut off on me. Now if won't turn on at all. (I turn the switch on and off and nothing happens as if it is not plugged in but it is!). I noticed at the top where the power cord enters the handle, it is all frayed. Could the electrical wires have detached? Anything you think I should check before taking it

The cord could be bad and will ahve to be replaced. It would have to have a problem inside the handle or down by the motor. ... Oreck XL2600 Vacuum

Hello, I have a problem with my Eureka Powerline bagged upright vacuum. It has a 12 amp motor and is model #4352, Type D. It was probably bought new in 1998. My problem is, while vacuuming today the motor seemed to slow down all of the sudden and then began smelling like burning rubber. I shut the vacuum off to check for blockages but could not find anything blocked. When I then turned it on again it runs but seems to only be running at 1/2 the motor speed and still has the rubber buring smell.

It sounds like a rubber sealing in the motor has come loose and is being constantly rubbed against the walls of the motor with would cause the smell and loss of motor speed caused by the fricton of rubber against the rod so if you can get to the moto ... Vacuums

I have a Eureka Upright vacuum (4800 Series). When I try to start it by turning the switch on, it wont. For few days, I was able to get around this problem by repeatedly turning the switch on and off until it turned on but that does not work any more. Could it be something related to the switch it self or the power cable. My wife mentioned that one of my kids might have pulled the power cable too hard (at the back of the vacuum). Our problem with our Rainbow E Series is that it has sucked water up and blown it out through the lower part of the hepa filter, making the filter wet and dirty. This had happened before and the repair shop did not see any problems with the machine, so we replaced the filter and were very carful not to overfill the tank and to change the water often. Now it has happened again and ruined another filter. Do you know what could be causing this issue? Can the filter be cleaned or will a new one be
