\015\012Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The Oreck fan is generally held on by a nut on the end of the motor and is replaceable, and it usually slides on but over the years it tends to stick on the shaft so you can take like 2 screwdrivers – one on each side and try to lift gently and the fan should come off, if not try some WD-40, and look on the inside of the new fan to see if there are threads that might screw on, if not then it should just side on, make sure if you use WD-40 to wipe off any excess liquid. Check you owner’s guide in the back pocket of the Oreck XL9300 to see any instructions that they might have, or call the Oreck factory to get a new owner’s manual for the vacuum.

\015\012So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Hi On a Hoover convertable model U4497-900 I'm trying to replace the fan. The old fan cracked, then flew apart. I have the new fan, have the motor assembly removed, but can't seem to get the pulley nut off the motor to replace the fan. Is there a trick to this or should I just try to muscle it? Thanks.

Shopvac 90L400 quit working (4 years old). Thought the switch was bad but not the problem. I read that there is a fuse link in the motor that frequently burns up. I tried to take motor apart but not sure of the process. I was able to get to the motor but cannot pull it out of the armature. It appears I have to take the aluminum blower unit off the shaft (it appears to be pressed on with a retaining washer). Do I have to take it off to pull the shaft and motor assembly out? This is crazy, as I've installed about a hundred ceiling fans in my day, but......what is the function of the 3rd pull chain on the Hampton Bay I just installed? It isn't the directional control as the fan has the traditional switch for this. The only thing I can figure is it's a means to control the fan and light with one pull chain. The generic instruction book doesn't address it. Thanks for your help!

I have a Kirby Dual Sanitronic '50' Vacuum Cleaner I bought in 1966. The motor does not start when I attach the belt lifter of the rug nozzle. When I remove the rug nozzle and detach the belt from the motor fan shaft the motor starts when I depress the nozzle switch and the power switch . Seems like the brushes in the motor are worn out. I do not have a manual for this unit. Can you assist me as to what newer unit is this compatible to and the problem I'm having at present??

I want to take the fan impellar off the motor to clean it. I cant seem to get the metal housing off of the motor. Do you have to take the nut off the impellar If so how do you stop the shaft from turning thank you.

Very simply you dont take the fan out of the motor. it was not made to be removed or cleaned because its not supposed o get dirty if your using good bags in the vacuum. the best you can do is blow it out with an air hose. ... Electrolux Epic 6500 Vacuum

Hoover WindTunnel S3765. The motor spins and the belt turns when I turn the brushes on, and the brushes will spin. The problem is that when I do this on carpet, the brushes stop spinning. As soon as I pull the "head" off the carpet, the brushes spin again. It's almost as if the vacuum suction is too great. I took the head apart and watched the motor turn the metal spindle that the belt rests on, and the belt turns as well.

Rainbow Vacuum, about 5 yrs old (bought new, no issues prior) - my 6yr old tipped it on it's side while water was in basin. Now when I turn the power on, it makes a very loud sound in the motor and you can feel the vibration on the floor. The suction still works and basin still catches dirt - the noise is just so loud and I'm not sure if I should continue use or how to fix -?

I have a Harmony vacuum that's a couple years old. I recently sucked a fair amount of dog hair into it and was unaware something was amiss since the things so quiet.
